Asus,
As of a few weeks (minimum) I have been noticing LAG while playing online CODAW with the PS4, lately it has been so bad, I just shut it off (no matter what time I play), and my PS4 lag test that I do was great, even when my wife (this morning) complained about slow loading of internet pages.
So I played some games this morning and again I was at the bottom of the list because no matter what I did in the game my bullets were not counting (killing anyone), SO I flashed dd-wrt and I went from bottom of the list to top of the list with my bullets counting like they should, in only the 10 minutes it took to flash.
There is absolutely no way PS4 servers would change in 10 minutes.
The only conclusion I can come to is my (sucky) ISP does not like something you are doing, maybe because I only have 30meg down and 5 meg up, and you are gearing for much faster speeds?
All I can say this is my findings.
Thank You,
Cheers!!
I was having trouble with lag on my Xbox One.
It wasn't horrible but I hate lag.
I've been testing new settings with great results.
1 shot 1 kill on COD AW (unless I actually miss)
See if my settings will work for a PS4 please.
First check on your network page and see if the right Icon is showing for PS4.
When my Xbox One is first connected the router actually thinks it's an Xbox 360 so I have to change the Icon.
Second I'm not using UPnP I have my Xbox and Cod ported and using static IP.
I have NAT acceleration OFF ( after doing lot's of research I found that gaming doesn't like CTF and there is a small possibility that using CTF can make you loose bandwidth.
Finally I'm using Adaptive QOS with gaming on top.
I'm not using the Apps awareness tab or colors.
I had issues before and after spending lots of time tinkering this setup is working amazing for me.
Let me know if it works on PS4.
One final note.
I use DNSBenchmark to find my fastest DNS.
It's easy to use and doesn't take near as long as Namebench.
So if you want grab DNSBenchmark and run a test to see if the DNS's your using are actually your fastest.
Mine wasn't so I changed them, the difference is night and day.
If you do decide to run DNSBenchmark don't have anything else running online.
It takes 30min or so to do it's first test set.
During that time it checks all known DNS servers both local and public.
After that list is first created It saves all your fastest DNS's in a list.
Then you can just test.
It's easy and the website gives you lots of info on how to use it.
Basically though you let the test run and It'll give you your list, then run the list.
If you have the sort fastest first button on the top two DNS's will be you fastest.
So if ya want try that out let me know.
If your DNS's are slow you'll feel it while playing online.
Happy Gaming!
