Google Play Store crashes

I'm using an LG 4X HD P880 running on Android 4.1.2 and recently my Google Play Store app crashes whenever I select the options menu from the top lefthand corner. It will display "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." This happens everytime I click on the options menu otherwise the Play Store works fine. The Google Play Store is version 4.9.13.

I did a search on Google but so far the solutions I have found there do not work for me. I tried clearing the data and caches but the problem persists. I have also checked to ensure Download Manager is not disabled.

I have not changed any settings just before this Play Store problem happened, I only installed Skype.

Anyone can help?

I have the same problem. LG Optimus L5 II dual (E455), stock Android 4.1.2, root. The latest version of Google Play (4.9.13) seems to be buggy.

I wonder if it's only affecting LG devices. Anyone with a solution? I hope there's an easier way then doing a hard reset.

I've read online that there's a way to work around this. Instead of clicking on the options menu button in the top left hand corner, use a swipe gesture from left to right across the screen and it will reveal the menu. Doesn't crash the app and better than nothing
