Hi everyone,

recently i tested a new product that is able to use an external GPU card on a mac laptop. the results were pretty good and i just want to share it with fellow users here and who it might be useful to.

Product: Netstor NA211TB (now ThunderBolt 2) ThunderBolt to PCIe

Tested with a 17 inch MacBook Pro with GTX 680 4GB on Davinci Resolve (video editing), getting about 18 FPS, (previously was only 3-4.5 FPS using default MBP video card) when converting 2.5K resolution footages

For anyone that needs a boost in GPU, this is able to speed up FCPX, Adobe CUDA apps if you're using a macbook pro or iMAC with a slow video card.

For more information, please contact the following for more enquiries:

Mocha Chai Laboratories
Blk 71 Ayer Rajah Crescent #06-14
Tel No: 6773 6360
Look for Chai YeeWei.

Hope this will help others as it has helped me. :)

Hi guys, no, I'm not Mr Chai.

I'm using a MacBook Pro 17 inch fully spec-ed, 256 SSD with 16GB Ram. I do a lot of video work, and have had always struggled with the internal graphic card limitations on the mbp.

The enclosure is priced at sgd 1479 and I coupled it with a GTX 680 2GB. It's a definite boost for my video work on the go. The price may be abit out of the range for some, but I just want to share this news to fellow users. :)

Definitely interesting for those that need portability and also powerful graphical power when at home working. At least the price is not as prohibiting versus a MacPro :)
