The American Express CapitaCard rewards spending both within and outside the 15 participating CapitaLand malls in Singapore with STAR$ ®. Shoppers earn 15 STAR$® for every S$1 spent on their CapitaCard at participating CapitaLand mall retailers, and an additional 5 STAR$® if they scan the receipts of their purchases using the CAPITASTAR app or self-service kiosks. This translates to 20 STAR$® per S$1 when they shop in CapitaLand malls – the highest earn rate for STAR$®, which is four times the rewards currently enjoyed by CAPITASTAR members. Every 5,000 STAR$® can be exchanged for a S$5 CapitaVoucher for free spending in CapitaLand malls.

Complimentary parking in participating CapitaLand malls
CapitaCard members will enjoy three hours of complimentary parking in each participating CapitaLand mall per day when they spend at least S$1,200 per month. They can also gain
access to privileged parking at reserved bays when they spend at least S$1,800 per month.

A welcome bonus of up to 50,000 STAR$®
CapitaCard members will receive a welcome bonus of

20,000 STAR$® when they make their first successful transaction with a minimum eligible spend of S$1. CapitaCard
members who spend at least S$888 within the first six months
will earn another bonus of 30,000 STAR$ ®.
Terms and conditions apply.

For more details and to apply for the American Express CapitaCard, visit amex.co/capitacard. Interested parties can also apply in person at American Express booths in Bugis Junction, Raffles City, Tampines Mall and Westgate.

Fast.

To summarize, 0.5% rebate (in a form of capitaland voucher) per $1 eligible spend.

Additional 10 pts per $1 when you shop at any capitaland malls using this card. (or up to 2%, thanks anfielder)

*Correct me if I'm wrong*

Yeah, up to 2% rebate at capitaland malls, if you take the trouble to scan the receipts.

I think the main draw will be the free parking benefits which used to be under the DBS capitacard.

Yeah. but the minmium spend to get free parking not worth it imo.

Anyone got ideas on how to clock 1200 in spending each month?

rather easy actually especially for married couples with kids.
Example Tampines Mall:
- Grocery all buy at NTUC Fairprice - Per month 300 to 600
- Weekend Dining @ Ding Tai Feng/Swensens/Crystal Jade/PuTien for 4 - 200
- Buy Electronics and Small Electrical appliances @ COURTS/Challenger - $100 to $400
- Buy exercise books, stationary etc @ POPULAR book store - $100-$300
- Buy toys @ TOY R US - $50 to $100
- Pay mobile bill directly at Singtel/M1/Starhub outlets - $200 to $600
- Shop for clothing, bags, shoes, cosmetics etc @ isetan, converse, Hush puppies, H&M, Charles & keith, Pandora - $200 to $600

I suppose it's worth it for those who frequent these malls and can spend $1200 a month there. Free parking on top of the 2% in vouchers.

those who frequent these malls will benefit from the points accumulation.

Gain Capita points and gain Amex points.

free parking... dunno haha!:s13:

First year annual fee waiver...wonder how much is the amount thereafter
$171.20, first 2 supp cards are free

Quite obvious that this is targeting families with kids. 2 supp card free.

and most of the CapitaMalls are in the Heartlands
Bedok Mall | Bugis Junction | Bugis+ | Bukit Panjang Plaza | Clarke Quay | IMM | JCube |
Junction 8 | Lot One | Plaza Singapura | Raffles City | Sembawang Shopping Centre | Tampines
Mall | The Star Vista | Westgate

Seriously 2% worth all the trouble?

There are way better cards for dining and grocery, telco bills...
