I am wondering...
AXS has no rebates BUT does it still count as 8x transactions and min $500.
These are fundamentally different issues right?

good point.

"Cash advance fees, gambling related transactions, quasi-cash transactions, late payment or interest charges, fees payable to the bank for transfer of any debit balance or any other credit card to a Card, any other interest, fees and charges imposed by the Bank from time to time, balance and/or funds transfer to and from Card Account, and any credit card transactions that was subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed for any reason will not be counted towards fulfilling the minimum monthly spend."

No mention of AXS or some of those excluded from rebate

for people who are confused with the exclusion for "Any payments to government institutions" and government hospitals,
If i'm not wrong, government institutions exclusion is probably for those like IRAS tax stuff, or HDB payments, fines, school fees etc.

They did state "Health, Beauty and Wellness category merchants shall consist of Hospitals, Nursing and
Personal Care Facilities, Doctors, Dentists, Optometrists, Opticians, Chiropractors,
Pharmacies, Cosmetic Stores (excluding department stores), Hairdressers, Massage
Parlours, Health and Beauty Spas only. "

So hospital payments should all be accounted for rebate.

I thought that donations and tax payments were excluded from 1 September onwards, were they not?

Now utility payments and AXS payments excluded as well.
No, I have made tax payment via AXS in November and it was counted in the min 500/8X30.

I read the new TnC from Feb 2018, again. It says excluded for rebates. It doesn't say not counted for minimum spend. So I don't care if I don't get the default 0.2% on AXS transactions for tax payments, as long it gets counted for the min 500/8X30.

have you tried to pay tax directly to iras without going through AXS and counted toward 500/8*30?

If you did not, please don't anyhow encourage people to try.

how does "paying tax directly to iras without going through AXS" or not have to do with the min 8x $30? The points is about AXS being excluded from rebate (under the new TnC from Feb) but not excluded from the qualified spending for minimum spending requirement.

The point is whether a transaction without rebate count towards minimum spending requirement.

Unless your personal experience show that.

So payment to government is excluded from rebate. So have you personally tried transactions without rebate, accounted for 500/8*30?

If you have tried personally, the point is proved and I rest my case.

I called the cso and they said payment to government institutions has no rebate but is qualified for the eligibility conditions.

Actually I called for cimb visa signature one for the online payment on foreign currency to Australian gov, so should apply

I noted it has been more than 5days for my transactions to be posted in Jan, posting takes normally 3-4days, but this mth seems to take double... Need to watch out to ensure 8 txns are clocked. Don’t wait till the last 3-4 days...
