Dont think hotel bother that much, at most they will put a hold over your card. Best if to book via those prepaid website. Then call to add the 2nd person name inside.

On separate note, will the citibank concierge help to use discount code? Especially for those website where the discount code is not so straight forward

Yes Citi concierge will help with discount code.
At least that is my experience with Sheraton hotels

You tried booking via concierge for 3rd party before? i have been asking the CSOs but concierge always insist cardholder must be present. And so far all my bookings with expedia has to be paid upfront. Maybe i try to register for 2nd person nt time when i am gg along to test your suggestion.

If you ask Citi CSO, they will definitely tell you that cardholder must be present as this is their policy.

Need to bear in mind Citi is only the booking and payment party using your credit card, Citi cannot control how the the hotel operates such as giving you upgrade, early check in etc.

If the hotel booking is eventually made in 2 person's name and 1 of them don't turn up, it is inconceivable that the hotel will cancel the booking. There is no grounds for the hotel to do so as it is a valid booking and a registered guest checked in.

Prepaid rates / payment upfront is even better. You don't even have to show the card used for the booking.

Citibank concierge rejected my request to use discount code for expedia. Probably for direct booking with hotel, they will accede as shared by other member.

to follow up on my earlier post. Citi can only book via expedia.com.sg or official hotel website. use of discount code no issue. Click through rate - can be done but may face slight push back.

hopefully expedia rate is the same as others. otherwise, the saving you get may be minimal

so after use the code, Citi will still give 4th night free?

Yes. Do note that the rebate back is only on the room fee excluding taxes and service fee.

As an example, assuming tax is 10% and service fee is 10%. Discount code available is 12%. Total 4 room rate is A.

Tax and service fee payable is 0.21A. (1.1 x 1.1 - 1)
Room after discount is 0.88A. Rebate ought to be 0.22A. However, rebate is in usd. Bearing any fx movement, real rebate will be ard 0.2134A.

So total cost in this case will be 0.21A + 0.88A - 0.2134A = 0.8766A.

Now assuming agoda has a room that is cheaper (B) and you can use a 10% discount code + shopback (currently 8%)

Toal cost using agoda is (0.9B + 0.21B) x 0.92 = 1.0212B. So if B is 12% cheaper than A, than better to book via agoda.

Play around depends on country to see which option better. If expedia rate is the same as all others, no brainer, just book via citi concierge.

yes citi prestige is good coz they allow you to apply discount code with 4th night free. Expedia is usually 10% more ex than agoda but the free night and code offsets that

ic ic. same here. first month bill came. paid bill. 2nd month bill came. up till now also never see the bonus point. then I saw that they state bonus points is when you pay the annual fee within 1st month of application, but I only pay after 1 month, as when the bill came, it was after 1 month liao (I was not late in payment).
So I was wondering do I really need to pay within 1 month or as long as no late payment ok liao.
guess I'll continue to wait and monitor the points

Does anyone have experience on their Airport Limousine Service?

A surcharge of S$10.70 is payable for every 15 minutes after an initial period of 15 minutes from the agreed collection time. Does it mean if my arrival flight got delayed by an hour, I might have to pay like $40+ for the waiting?

Flight delay will not result in a penalty. The driver will monitor flight arrival timing based on the flight info given.
