Hi I'm from higher nitec biz studies with a gpa of 3.6.

I'm looking for poly courses in SP and NP.

Some are the courses I'm keen in

SP - HR with psychology
SP - Integrated event and project management
SP/NP - tourism and resort management

Is there any courses you are in to share with me? Or if you are in the courses I stated above, let me know more about the modules etc! Appreciate a lot! :)

I'd either take up HR or Project management if I were you. Tourism and hospitality is very difficult to upgrade yourself. You will most likely stay in operations side forever and not able to move up to management positions. You will also start with pretty low pay and a lot of work. Not able to expand into other industries as well, very narrow scope. At least with HR, don't like one company can move on to the next. Every company needs HR department.

I highly recommend HR with psychology too.

Many, many Integrated event and project management end up in the tourism and hospitality industry too. So everything the previous post said about tourism and resort management would apply to Integrated event and project management.

Every industry has its own career paths and job scopes at every level.

would advise you to visit to one of the luxury hotels or restaurants in Singapore or abroad... It's not surprising to see a Hotel Manager or Restaurant Manager or even the GM to be down at the ground servicing or interacting a guest.
I personally have seen a Restaurant Manager at Gaia, Goodwood Park Hotel Singapore ushering guests to their tables, helping them with their orders, serving dishes, cleaning & arranging the tables for the next guest... fyi, that Restaurant Manager is a Caucasian.

Hospitality/Tourism/Resort/F&B management is under Business Management umbrella. Therefore, the saying that "You are in this line, means you are stuck in this line" is crap...

business grads can do hospitality jobs but hospitality grads can't do business (eg non-hospitality finance, HR, supply chain etc) jobs.

not true... I have friends who graduated with hospitality-related diploma and degree currently working in other business industries like SCM, Procurement, Sales, and they were previously in the Hotel or F&B line...
