Another interesting concept for DIY HEPA purifier. Can try it yourself to put into office/room for standby purposes. It's pretty small.

HEPA can get from Amazon, or if you trust taobao's Made in China OEM HEPA quality (shd be pretty ok, maybe HEPA10-12).

RMB19/SGD4 HEPA 10-12(probably) circular filter. Free shipping to 4PX SZ forwarder etc.

Limited to 1 per customer
Specs 275mm diameter, 15mm thickness.

Standby to scotch tape to your 230mm outlet iFan or Vornado or SGD19 Morries fan that you can get from GIANT, as an additional aid to your Sharp A50/Samsung AX40 etc if you were to lug them to your living room.

Caution, don't whack during sleeping or unattended. V slight fire risk. Only for "emergency usage" like > PSI 200.

SGD4, and probably just some 300 grams in weight so forwarding feels would be v low. Can't complain.

u mean blueair 650E cost 1.65k? so ex?!

Yep... actually it's $1699 at Courts/BD etc. 65E = 830m3/hr. AX40 = ~ 350m^3/hr.

And I can assure you that it's waayy louder than 2 units of Samsung AX40, heard it in action before.

Heck, you can get 4 units of Samsung AX40 and the 650E would still be louder. :D

Blueair 650E :: Massmark International

Another thing to consider is the power consumption. If you're gonna be using this for > 8hrs daily, the $$$ impact per year is quite noticeable.
2 units of Samsung AX40 is 68W.
1 unit of Blueair 650E is 120W.

The Samsung AX40 uses a very efficient brushless DC motor (310V DC, brand is New Motec, I SICed before in a post about 2 pages back).

Eh bro, can u explain the Samsung Ax40 control bar again.
how come like can't switch on like manual mode.

It lights up when u power up. Then the 2nd button is what? ioniser?
3rd button (3sec something)?
How come it's always like auto mode.
It doesnt respond when i press the low fan and high fan speed. Then only has the sleep mode on the extreme right.
The airflow like very slow leh on auto mode. even my 17000 can definitely output more air than that.

It's like this. Second button (active) cycles between Auto->Strong->weak->sleep.

3rd button, short press is Ioniser selector. Long press (3sec) is filter reset button.

The rightmost 4 buttons no effect....just for display nia. :D

you're the man! Thanks!
Going to take over my 17000 starting from tonight.
It's almost silent at low speeds.

Sometimes the light also turns yellow/orange? Then turn back to the normal color.
Not sure what triggered that off.
