Anyone here mitgrated with school going kids? Did your kids adjusted well?

Really depends, my child moved to Japan and back, adjusted all right but child is young. This time we moved 1000 miles and I don't foresee an issue.

My pal kids moved to nz, avg students in Sg but in nz they turned out to be elites!

Asking what's the difference between Canada vs Australia in term of cost of living(I read up about this at different websites, still I have to ask this for more perspective.)

Thank you.

How to compare? You need to find ppl living in both countries to give you a better perspective. On top of that cost varies from location to location. You comparing Vancouver Or Toronto to Melbourne and Sydney? Most ppl don't live in the cities but the suburb,

Cost of housing you can search those real estate sites, gas or electric prices they are published too. Cost of buying a car also present. Grocery will not impact cost a whole lot imho. Tax and deductible maybe harder to find but still doable just more research

Vanoucver weather is very very very very very depressing. But got convenience skiing and snow boarding.
******* lah. Vancouver's weather depressing? You try winter in Toronto. Everyday clear driveway and brush off snow from your car in winter. Winter in Vancouver is mild.

you should find a lot of rentals in Burnaby Metrotown. 30 mins should get you to downtown. 10 dollars per day for roundtrip.

Rentals depends on whether you want to stay in new concrete buildings or wooden condos.

Coquitlam evergreen line is delayed till 2017.
People voted against the train station in Coquitlam. That is why delayed. The politics involved is damn interesting. At least as a citizen you can be part of the chaos and contribute to the dissenting voices against silly ventures by the elected government

.... and i complain abt engineering in sg. the depth is getting so shallow that being an engineer in sg, the knowledge is even lesser than apprentice.....

Speacking of schooling children, alto rare, but there is a chance that some children cannot adjust and whole family had to pull back to sg. but one shouldnt be deterred by that if migration is the way u wan.

comparing to sunny Singapore lah

by contrast, Vancouver is overcast and raining/drizzling almost whole year round

Stay in Singapore best why even move!!!
Go Australia also has its issues, no prefect country as long as you like it then it's no deal breaker.

According to stats it's 166 days of rain, snow etc and 289 days of sunshine about 45% or little less than half. Seem like almost all year round when glass is always half empty

I'm planning to migrate to canada... currently taking engineering degree... Recently saw that they came up a new express entry point system scheme, and it looks like they are more welcoming of highly skilled professionals to settle there. Actually wanted to migrate to uk but their quota reached already...

Well much like San Francisco ppl know its earthquake zone but they love the place and willing to pay big $$ for houses.
