The Corsair casing department seems to have hit upon a winning formula of monolithic looks with clean elegant lines full of aesthetic appeal. The brushed aluminium facade is complimented by flushed discrete buttons and matching drive covers.

Most amazingly, they have managed to craft the looks consistently for the shrunken mATX iteration of their monster 900D casing, otherwise fondly referred to as Godzilla. A quick careless glance and one may be mistaken for the other in web pictures (no can do in real life, considering the vast physical size disparity).

Just check these out.

Definitely a successful and impressive rollover design job done there.

Interestingly, the spacious mATX 350D isn't really much larger than the Bitfenix Prodigy which is strictly only mITX.

In fact Anandtech uses a mITX mobo in their 350D review, just check out all that breathing space! They could have even used one of those infamous triple slot ROG cards there without any sweat... :D

Interiors
quintessentially classic staples of Corsair's design - humongous mobo backplate hole, reusable backplates, central anchoring bolt and tool-free drives

After (mis)handling the massive 900D Godzilla, the 350D is a design of much joy and ease. Panel fit is great, side panels swing out a la Corsair designs, not slide which allow for more precise factory alignment and machining. Despite its size, the case feels roomy, very water friendly and should make for a great LAN party rig. Love it!

This a very appealing product to opt for or at the very least think about if are in the market for a small form factor PC that kicks ass. Very much recommended.

Corsair Obsidian 350D Review - Introduction

The 350D is Corsair’s first attempt at a M-ATX case and we really like what they have brought to the table. We are sure 350D will establish itself as a firm favourite with enthusiasts who choose to use the smaller form factor but still love the classic Obsidian appearance.

The Corsair Obsidian 350D is an outstanding mini-tower case for those users looking for a case for building a high-end PC using a microATX or Mini-ITX motherboard. It provides several features usually only seen on bigger cases.

that's a very awesome matx case:vijayadmin:
I actually like the 'press' front plate to remove and clean
dust filter...better then most case where you have to pull out the whole front panel:)

Corsair seems to have teething issues with pushing out their latest 900D/350D in sufficient quantities (it's worldwide, not just us)... suggest all interested buyers quickly indicate their interest with the local distro since there is an ongoing launch offer on their Facebook page.

Yes, the 350D is indeed a real joy to use. :)

Wah. A really solid case. Almost tempted to switch to matx just for this case. But knowing corsair, will they price it way out of similar cases?

like the 200r, front air intake would be a problem as the air intake is at the sides of front panel

corsair should have optional wire mess front panel

i think it will cost more than S$100

How about this proposed fan config if one really wants to equilibrate the intake/exhaust hence internal pressure more evenly?

FanConfigCopy_zps3b7f8ff0.png~original

Needs just one more intake dust filter at the back though.

i think for matx case the psu better put on top because the gpu is too near and both emit a lot of heat which could reduce the lifespan if the front panel fan does not have enough air intake to cool it down quickly

for the back to become intake might blow hot air towards the cpu when the front trying to push the air towards the back which i feel should exhast to the back

the case looks nice but i feel the front should have optional front panel with more holes since it is removal and cleaning is no problem as the dust filter also removal

if they move the psu upstair, seal up the top and provide wire mess front panel, it would become a classic matx case

does it come with usb2 connectors?

There is only so much one can change the classic facade and internal arrangement before it loses that Obsidian series design style. Too much differences and it may become too awkward resembling something else more like a CM case as per your suggestions.

Still, any DIY owner can always... get hands on and mod to your heart's desire and delight eg. the front panel is just so easy to remove and replace/mod with your own mesh if you value functionality above all else.

there is a reason why cm didn't change the structural design of their matx casing after so many years because of airflow issues

i think corsair is best sticking to its premium atx casing segment which it does best

it looks nice but sorry i don't think the airflow works like its 200r :(

No single design can suit everyone which is why there are so many casing models on the market and in addition, there is also the even more individualitic/creative DIY self-modders as well.

Different strokes for different folks. :)
