in any case for both models I wouldnt recommend any 8 core vishera 125W processor; neither model have VRM heatsinks; the LX has only 3+1 phase. the usb3 has 4+1.

They both have piledriver bios support but u need to update the bios. Even if it says no FX 8350 support, so long it supports other models (i.e. FX 8300, 6300) of the same family it should run the FX 8350

My concern for u is that at load, the mb vrm will probably go pop. If your mb is the LX, get a new mb. if it is the 4+1 usb3 model, undervolt the FX 8350 and get a cheap 8 cm fan to blow on the vrms.

As long as you can accept the risks of it failing due to possible power overloading/overheating/smoking/burning despite all the safety advice given above... then you're OK.

Strange though, to splurge on the highest end CPU but skimp badly on the mobo - makes for a weirdly lopsided rig.

Buyers tend to overlook the TDP aspect of AMD CPUs and motherboards and think it should be just as compatible as Intel variety (where TDP is no longer an issue) as long as socket fits..

I believe the frequent recommendation of high end Intel quad core with low end B75 motherboard led to such info distortion. :o
