Dafuq did I do wrong......

New PC built 2 days ago, installed Win 7 Pro, updated it (using that super convenient Convenience Pack) and upgraded to Win 10.

Now here's where the trouble begins:
After disabling the network card to test something, every attempt to enable it causes Windows to hang (nothing moves, no mouse, no keyboard, even CapLock and NumLock won't toggle in this state). Even the hardware reset switch does not work, only by holding down the power switch am I able to power off the system to reboot it.

I suspect the trouble began earlier when I found that my USB 3.0 HDD isn't detected by the PC even if it can connect to my main laptop.

I have uninstalled the Intel Pro network drivers and attempted to reinstall it, but it hangs at "Installing network drivers for: Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (2) I219-V".

As far as I know, Windows is also fully updated.

The bios is the latest available one (v2.00 at time of writing), installed when I first post-ed it and updated it from the UEFI bios.

Am thinking that the mobo is faulty? What's the chances......

Here's the specs (bought most stuff from Tradepac last Sat):
CPU: Intel i5-6600
Board: AsRock H170M Pro4
Ram: 2x 8GB Kingston DDR4 2133
GPU: Palit GTX970 (2nd hand from HWZ)
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
PSU: SuperFlower Leadex 550W Gold
Case: Sharkoon T28

Hmmm somehow I got it working, after power cycling when it hang at the "Installing network drivers for: Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (2) I219-V".

Now when I check the Event Manager, there is this error message approximately when it hang:
The description for Event ID 56 from source Application Popup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

ACPI
5

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

really don't know what went wrong, bios has been updated, latest drivers downloaded from Intel website in use, maybe I'll investigate further tonight...

the most worrying thing for me is when the whole computer hangs, and not even the reset button works o.0

if not lighted, try turn off psu rocker switch, then press & hold casing power button for abt 20sec... also try clr cmos & load optimised defaults in uefi...
