Modding of Westone 4 to 4RC (removable cable)

Wanted to share this with you guys & gals.

Took quite a long time figuring out how to do this mod. Looking for the right parts and how to fit everything back inside securely.

The W4(r) sounds much better with an upgrade cable.

Nice modding there, but what about the acoustic symmetry on the W4R? I tested both before and the W4R sounds a lot neutral.

Yes it is. Saw the modded W4 in person before. very nicely done

Other than the detachable cables wise, the Westone 4 and 4R is said to be same sonically.

As for the acoustic symmetry, its to ensure that the drivers are evenly tuned and only have an error margin of +/- 2db. Some can hear the difference some are not unable to.

Not sure about the acoustic symmetry. Don't have the proper equipment to test it. But I did have W4, w4R and a W4(RC) at one point. They all sounded the same to me with a stock cable.

Next up headphone RC mod. =]

I've 4R and the 4(already mod to RC + silver cable is done by fonebone) ,
can clearly heard the 4(RC with the silver cable) is much details compare to the 4R.

Hey Sean, next round I will pass my ipv to you make DIYMOD.
after that I will take the DIYMod VS with the RWA iMod,
