Normal Octopus card, because can use elsewhere like Wellcome (similar to our NTUC), 7-11, Circle K, etc.

Also, day trip passes only valid for one day and you may need multiple top-ups if your travel expenses is over HK$55. Not worth it.

Even if you don't intend to return to HK, you can keep the card for keep-sake. A HK souvenir for yourself.
