Press the 'Enter' button on the remote and select stretch. Why would you want to stretch and distort the aspect ratio of 4 by 3 channels?

Press the # button on the remote and select stretch. Why would you want to stretch and distort the aspect ratio of 4 by 3 channels?

it will display in 4:3 instead of 16:9 if I select the screen resolution to HD format-1080i.
Unless I deselect to 4:3 normal resolution, it will display in 16:9 but I will get two black bars if the channel is board cast in HD

since 3 yrs ago, mediacorp ch5(SD) and ch8(SD) have been broadcasting most shows (esp during prime time) in 16:9 format squashed to PAL, so u need to manually set your widescreen tv to fullscreen in order to watch ch8 7pm/9pm dramas and 8pm variety shows.

Nothing such happened to me. My mioTV screen resolution is also set at 1080i and almost all channels are in 16:9 format(selected stretch mode) except Jiale HD channel when some of their shows are in 4:3 format(SD shows most likely).

In 1080i, HD channel like 5, national geography, Disney xd show in full screen HD, image super clear! But tune to channel 8 , I assume shd be HD also... but why in 4:3?
TV setting (LG ) was in just scan mode. Mio set up box blue Led light(hd) is on.
Would it be the TV setting need to change??

I live in amk and according to the MDA rollout map i should be getting DVB-C signals from the SCV point unencrypted right?

If so,
1) should i hold off buying the daiyo antenna
2) where can i buy DVB-C tv tuner for pc (pci/pci-e) preferred

So guys, I ask a question:

So far, are there any PC tuner cards that are DVB-T2 v1.3.1 compliant that allows one to watch TV or record TV to watch later?

AVerTV Hybrid Volar T2
it's a usb stick, jus released in august 2013. I'd believe it is 1.3.1 compliant since 1.3.1 is published in nov 2011.

the map with the coverage is thru the starhub point (which is DVB-C?). Please correct me if im wrong

The MediaCorp Digital TV broadcast rollout map is for DVB-T2. Terrestial broadcast over the air.
Not for DVB-C signals from StarHub SCV point.

1) Do you already have a TV with DVB-T2 tuner inbuilt? And also does your flat in AMK have the rooftop MATV? If the answer is yes to both, and your TV can currently receive these analogue (Ch U, okto & CNA) channels, you have a good chance of receiving the DVB-T2 digital broadcast thru the MATV. And it is a better choice than the Daiyo.

2) If MediaCorp's FTA channels in HD is what you desire, only HD5 is currently available on DVB-C. Refer to this post for more info.

Yesterday the skycom technician came to do testing and the reading for the draco antenna is around 42dbi. Then they tested the margon antenna and the reading increased to 70dbi. The signal intensity and signal quality reading all above 90%. Finally it works!
