im using unlimited fibre internet only. no mio. previously on 500mbps and using the singtel-others had no problem. is there any configuration to be done ont?

Unlimited fibre no need iptv profile. Either u perform a reset on your router or u remove the profile. It should work now.

What are you talking about? You mentioned the engineer came to change your ONT right? How can your unlimited fibre not be activated yet and he left? LOL.. :D

Nvm you are free to wait until 9pm. See if anything changes..

sorry my mistake. i guess its considered as a new sign up as i rmb at the sitex show the person asked me to give a new email for the fibre too.

i didn't request for the st router to be installed (which i shld have taken it up) thats why the engineer just installed the new ont and told me he cant configure the asus router as its not supported by them. so yeah, i'll just have to wait and hope it'll be up by 9pm.

i don't think you understood what were your options at sitex.

singtel offers 2 types of 1gbps plans.
1) 1Gbps Home Fibre @ $69.90/mth
2) Unlimited fibre service @ $50/mth

these 2 plans are significantly different because these 2 are priced differently.

1gbps home fibre is a vlan tagged plan which they will provide you with their own wireless router. They will also provide technical support to the router they supply.

Unlimited fibre service, which is the one you are using now, is not vlan managed, therefore any router will work with the ONT and even a direct connection to the pc from the ONT will give you internet access.

I don't understand why you are waiting for the 9pm thing when right now, you have the choice to make it work. I am quite certain your service is up and running because an engineer will never come to your house, install the ONT and leave without testing the service is up and running. I am slo certain that the engineer has tested the speed of your fibre and deemed it as within acceptable range before he left.

the engineer was also right to refuse technical support for asus router because he was in no position to help you.

As I have mentioned to you, you just need to remove the iptv profile and it should work provided you connected everything correctly. If you still insist to wait for the 9pm, then wait lor, that will be a futile wait i guarantee.. I just find it amusing when you came to the forum for help, then you ownself refuse to heed the advice given and insist on waiting for the 9pm. not judging here, but i just feel that its just so weird.

anyone faces random reboots on the latest firmware? appreciate if anyone could suggest a more stable firmware version.

The random reboots happen almost daily, thinking of sending it for rma.

thanks for your reply, nope, reboot scheduler is off. Sometimes the router will continue broadcasting the ssid but all devices are unable to connect to it (both 2.4 and 5ghz). The connection will only come back on after a few minutes.

Checked the system log, the uptime has been reset. Currently on asus latest firmware.

Hence, may i know whether is this ac68u still the recommended choice or other models?

thanks in advance!

ac68u is quite stable.

ac87u performance is better than ac68u but feedback not very good, heard that it is quite unstable. not sure if asus has already fixed it.

ac3200 performance should be even better than ac87u. not sure if stable or not but it is supposed to be an improvement over ac87u so i think should be quite stable.

in short, got money buy ac3200, no money buy ac68u.

hi, thanks for ur reply.

i am considering between ASUS AC3200 and ac68u and ac87u, dunno which one is more stable

AC3200 is so fugly and fexpensive. Higher performance but if you don't mind spending, then go for it.
