Hi guys,

i recently bought ac87u updated to the latest firmware 9177.

i am on fibre 200mbps plan but on 2.4ghz i am getting max

50mbps but on 5ghz i am getting like 170mbps. is there any

setting i miss out in 2.4ghz ?

maybe You have interferences from other wifi in air ? Use inSSIDer and check this, change channel etc....

Only Note 4 can scan 5Ghz or all devices? Are you able to scan 5GHz of neighbor? Usually the SSID will contain 5G behind.

If router is the problem, first reboot. Then try reset, then try update firmware. If all fail, RMA.

anyone have whatsapp call issue connect wifi on ac87u, call other side was on 4g network and i cannot hear other side speaking sound but other side can hear what i speak. but i try connect on both ac87u wifi on my home but its work both can hear the speaking sound. and i change router to 7009singtel set. no problem at all. either call other side on 4g network.

Generally speaking 2.4Ghz gives you range while 5Ghz gives you speed, at the expense of each other. So I would say is normal?

Thought I saw there's a new feature - "scheduler for router reboot" on the earlier firmware 9110.

Think I might have missed it but I couldn't find this feature in both 9110 and the latest 9177 firmware.

Appreciate if someone could enlighten me on where I can locate this feature. Thanks.

Im seeing better stability on 5g with my iphone 6+ as well as better range.

I have channels set to auto and did a factory reset after fw update. Good job Asus.

Thank you for the clarification. It is a shame to learn that it is merely a typo error as I thought it is a good feature to incorporate into this router. Any chance to have it included in next release?

Still problem with battery drain on ANDROID by 5GHz.
This is unacceptable in its class. I can not use it because the battery disappears in his eyes. When ASUS will solve this problem soon because I only heard soon

ASUS@SG, any plans to release 9177 to Merlin so that he can incorporate it is his firmware? It has been awhile since he has released a new version thanks to ASUS moving to closed sourcecode etc. Pls be considerate to your customers who are still using ASUS hardware. Thanks.

Thrust upgraded to 9177.
Notice an issues with guest wifi setting. It will affect my 2.4 and 5G wifi whenever I make changing to this guest setting.
Anyone have the same issues?
