Not sure if anybody has this issue on their set. A slight pressure on the back of the Air 2 brings about a wave effect on the screen similar to that if you were to press on the screen with your finger. Is that normal. Don't have this problem on my original air :vijayadmin:

For air 2 owners, is this a very serious issue? Does using a case solve the problem?

Was about to purchase from online apple store until i read about this screen distortion problem.

Mine have the same issue as TS.

I need to press harder to see that effect...light touch will not cause this.

I think if using a case "solve" the problem, that is not really called solving. That's covering.

Some said that it doesnt really happen if u dont press hardly. Maybe some people hold their ipad in one hand tensely. Thumbs at the front and four fingers at the back thus creating a tension that presses out the screen from behind with the 4 fingers. That's why the problem happens.

All LCD also the same mah..u try poking hard into your IPS or LED monitor u see similar result.

The key question is do you normally poke so hard at a screen?

Tempered glass help?

Must really exert alot of pressure using your fingers then can see it and it's only one spot just below the middle towards the right.

Suspect where that's the logic board, no battery as a shield.

I went to try in nubox as well. Must press quite hard before it shows. Mine must a a dud set since normal grip or lifting the iPad Air 2 up from the right side also shows the distortion.

The issue is not with poking/pressing the screen too hard..

It is if you hold the iPad with one thumb on the right bezel and 4 fingers behind the iPad and just simply lifting it up, it bends the component inside or something

Well.. from that picture that's like lifting the iPad with only it's weight so probably a defective one.

So far only that spot will show that distortion. Suspect that's where the logic board is. Tried on the left side, no such screen issue.
