2013 Winter (Again).....

Was quite a last min decision to visit Japan again before CNY, wanted to try out the 787 Dreamliner but got busted cos of the battery glitch. So here's some pictures

Change in the aircraft configuration. Not too bad!

Reached Narita in the morning, and head straight to Shin Aomori Station.

Checked in to Richmond Hotel, Aomori for a good rest.

Walked around the area and there's a mini snow lighting at Aomori Station.

Passed by an eatery that serves fresh scallops...nothing but scallops. You get to fish the scallops within one minute. Dun worry if you get none, will still be entitled 4 scallops per pax. Costs - 1000 yen per pax.

You get to choose how your scallops to be done, i chose bbq, sashimi and sushi

Day 2 -Aomori to Lake Towada

After a good night rest, head back to Shin Aomori for our onward journey to Lake Towada.

Very cool train...it's much spacious and faster than the usual Tohoku Shinkansen.

Roam around the train station while waiting for the shuttle bus to Lake Towada and saw this float display ...very majestic..reminds me of our floats used during Chingay...Which, can't be compared...

Next stop...Sendai (Matsushima Bay)

Super delicious apple pastry from Aomori. If you are heading there, look out for those delicacies made from apple.

We reached the bay quite late and so, we reccee the place around...and see lotsa grilled seafood down the road.

Reached the ferry booth...and showed pics of the water level had reached when tsunami had hit the place.

Since we missed the boat and everywhere is closing, we called it a day and continue the next day.

We got there early and strolled at the nearby temple ground and found a tree that survived thru the ordeal.

Lunch ... back to tokyo, gyu tongue bento. pull the string attached the bento and it will warm the food within seconds.

Duplex rents out to renter staying 6 to 7 days onwards. i aimed for that place for sometime but din managed to rent it previous times as my stay was short.

Wanted to go Matsushima Bay for my Japan trip last month cos i want to cover the 3 Sights of Japan. But since its quite near to Sendai/Fukushima, i skipped it. So in the end only went to Miyajima n Amanohashidate.

So, is Matsushima worth the risk/trouble?

In my opinion, Matsushima is nice and the scenery was really good. It's up to individual. To me, i was glad that i went there

They do rent out for short stays. e.g. 7 days ( i stayed there for 6 days). You can drop them an email and ask if they have vacant rooms for the period u want
