Lake Kawaguchiko is good..I went last Nov..

But no guarantee you can spot Fuji on the days you're there..Both of my colleagues who went in Jan and another last month didnt manage to see Fujisan..

I was lucky to spot it literally thru my 2 days at Kawaguchiko and Gotemba..

Actually if you have yet to book your stay, can consider Weekend Shuffle Lakeside Inn..

This is the view from my room window..

I went to lake Kawaguchiku. Many place of interest there beside seeing Mt Fuji. The view was magnificent, temperature was like 3 degrees, damn cold.

kawaguchiko has the best chance to see fuji..its the nearest tourist attraction to Mt Fuji nearer than Hakone....alternatively....Fuji city in Shizuoka can also get a very close view...but the city is a pure working class city and not a tourist attractions for tourists.

Heard that in recent times Lake Kawaguchi has been rather cloudy, view isn't as good as before. I caught a really good glimpse while on the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo.

Believe me the hiking journey & the view on the way/down/sunrise @ the summit are simply unforgettable if you are lucky to have good weather on your climbing days.

omg... didnt know Kyoto to Tokyo ride can see.
I slept throughout the journey from Osaka to Tokyo...

I went to Gotemba Premier around 2pm and it was blocked by cloud until evening, can see part of it.

Went Skytree and it was blocked by clouds as well:(

I will be staying in Tokyo for my upcoming trip... Any suggestion on how to add viewing of Mt Fuji to my itinerary? What's the traveling time needed... :)

Thanks ...

From Tokyo station, take the JR Chuo line to Mitaka station and transfer to the Kaiji ltd. express train to Otsuki. It is also possible to take the Kaiji ltd. express directly from Shinjuku station. At Otsuki, transfer to the Fujikyu line. This is a privately held railway and the JR Pass is can’t be used on this line. The fare from Otsuki to Kawaguchiko is ¥ 1,440 by limited express or ¥ 1,140 by local service.

Found some info from website... Are those details above ok to follow? Thanks
