I have benefitted much from this forum in helping me planning my 1st trip to Tokyo and like to share my experience especially those going to Tokyo with toddler and stroller.
We stayed 8 nights at Hotel Century South Tower Shinjuku. Good hotel with convenient access to Shinjuku station. Opposite Takashimaya Times Square. I requested for a room near lift during my booking and the hotel gave the room just next to lift, very convenient. Don't want to waste time walking too far between lift and room. The hotel lobby at level 20, hotel can be accessed from Shinjuku terrace city at level 2 or from level 1 i.e. the road where hotel Sunroute Shinjuku located. Paid about $280 per night with king size bed, enough space for 3 of us: my wife, daughter and me. There is sofa that can be use to sleep as well.
Many train stations in Tokyo are not stroller-friendly, they don't have lift at every station entrance, have to carry stroller up and down by stairs .. Very tiring .
When taking Oedo line from Shinjuku station with stroller, the most convenient access is to go to hotel Century 1st floor, then go across the street and take lift beside hotel Sunroute, go down to B3 then change to lift to B7 where train gate is located.
If taking JR trains from Shinjuku station: Yamanote line or Chuo lines, go to South entrance, here all tracks have lifts to go down to the track.
If going to Harajuku station with stroller, remember to take exit or entrance from gate next to entrance to Meiji shine, don't use exit/entrance opposite Takeshita street, there is no lift only stairs.
There is Hyperdia apps android version, very useful and convenient compared to using web version, but have to find apk file from outside Google Play. We cannot download from Google Play as it is only open for Japan.
