And yep, quite a few of the toilets are hi-tech, even for some restaurants. Hi-tec as in electronically controlled WCs that heat up the bowel seating area, and water jets to clean your arse hole after you sh*t. :s13:

My tour guide joked about the hi-tec toilets saying it is only "semi-automatic", some part of your body still have to move to use the facility efficiently. :s13:

Haha.) Quite a few of my tour groupies were quite amazed by the gadget. In fact, a few of them tried fiddling around with the water sprays without actually sitting on the seat in the toilet yet, so the water ended up getting sprayed around out of control around the toilet walls. :s13:

i intend to go F&E to korea too! hopefully can find a friend to go with me or else i'll just go on my own.

i've been reading up and adding up some expenses and i realised that for korea, it's cheaper to go for packaged tours then extend if you want more time as compared to going f&e. the air tix is almost the same price as a tour package (but if you buy from an agent it'll be cheaper but not much i guess). meals are about ~S$10 from what i've read and language is definitely a barrier so if you don't know how to read hangul or speak korean, package might be a better choice.

but for me, i find going on packaged tours a bit rush and the attractions aren't my cup of tea esp when they bring you to those ginseng factory or those wholesale centres to buy pearl powder. =:p besides, i've read that though some package tours include attractions like lotte world and everland, it's quite a waste of time cos the place is so huge you won't be able to finish it in a day. but... if you die die must go jeju island, i think it's cheaper if you sign up for a package tour. oh yah, accomodation is quite expensive in korea so you might consider homestay-ing. about ~USD$25 and above for a night.

the prices of stuff in korea is as expensive as those in japan. :o

Yes just go with packaged tours it's the best choice Unless you are really adventurous. Language problems...standard of living in Korea or rather Seoul itself is as expensive as Tokyo. 3 stars hotel price starts from $150~up. Well im going back to Korea probably during march maybe you can join me HAHAHHA. going to Jeju island take domestic flight by korean air or asiana. Depends on which day and time. Cost about $70~up for one way trip.

Well i still have time(before ORD) to pick up some hangul hehe. Alot of planning to be done , but for someone like me who going to experience their culture etc , tour package seems attractive to me, as long as there's a day or two for free and easy to meet my friend there haha.

It's isn't easy to learn Korean language because it's quite complicated. For one sentence for example "It's been a long time", You can say it in many many ways as much as 6 ways dependings on who you speaking to. Honorifics are part of the Korean Language and it's a must to show respect to the elders and people older than you until you really know them well until you can use shortforms and slangs.

hi all,

regarding the night flight to korea, do they serve supper or breakfast?
korea air is 1am, asiana is around 10:30pm. wish to know what time they serve the meal, if they serve supper, then i will just wait for the supper before i sleep. if they serve breakfast, i will sleep straight away till the breakfast time.

need to know as i do not want to wake me up just for meal.

It's better to take korean air flight because when you reach there, about 6 hours like that just nice it's morning bout 7AM+. Last time korean air flight KE642 flys at around 11+ which is quite early and when reached that it's like 5am+ local time which is very early, not public transport other than taxis.

Went and back:)

For Genting Holiday, we stay in Robero Hotel Jeju (2 nights) and Daemyung Sorak Resort (2 nights). The other 2 hotels where we stayed 1 night each and I could not recall the name at the moment. Will try to dig out the names and get back to you. :)

The hotels Genting Holiday stays in are not the best in Korea (like those 5* hotels other agencies are offering), but reasonable and comfortable IMO. We normally get back to our hotel at around 10pm cause Korean shops closed at around 9.30pm

Robero Hotel Jeju was very close to the underground mall (5 mins walk) and very convenient, you could go on your "free and easy" shopping if you have the time. Daemyung Sorak Resort though not ski resort is almost equivalant to one, it has its own supermarket, shops etc and its Sorak Waterworld is a must visit place..hot spa, ginseng bath etc..shiok.

The tour guide with us - Anna a middleage Chinese lady was wonderful and "motherly" and shown us a lot of "out of the iternary" stuff :) I have an enjoyable and memorable trip really.
