Have you booked your transport from SG? For Malacca, if you don't drive, we normally take a coach. I personally go for Luxury which stops at Casa del Rio, and then Equatorial. Or you can check easybook.com for other coach companies that stop at Equatorial as well. Alternative would be to take a coach from here that stops at Melaka Sentral, then take a cab to your hotel.

hi thanks for your advice and guidance for transport.

We have settled hotel(equa) and transport (easybooking, like you mentioned).
all is set.

now we are just planinng our itinerary within malacca.

Have found palces like Jonker88, Dataran megamall, mahkota parade...

Is it really advisable for us to take a car rental for 1 day? if so, where shld we go with car? other than the klebeng coconut milkshake.

Unless you've found somewhere off town to visit, you don't really need a car. My "car" has been my "ka" - I walk almost everywhere I go, in Melaka. I've only taken a cab when I think the destination is too far to walk. :D

First time in Melaka with only 3D2N, you might want to explore the area on foot, and consider a cab ride if necessary.

Jonker88, Dataran Pahlawan (check out the Heritage Centre in there too), Mahkota Parade (there's a Giant supermarket in the basement, in case you need anything) ... actually there are lots to explore and eat, I don't even know where to start. :s13:

I normally stay in the vicinity of Jonker Street, have taken cab only to 3 places so far:

- Melaka Sentral - when I used to take coach that stopped there.
- Aeon Jusco - another mall near Melaka Sentral, too far to walk=:p
- Jalan Gajah Berang - had spare time so went to check out something there. Took cab coz had no idea how far, but ended up walking back after we got our bearings. :D

Equatorial is pretty centralized as well, so check the location of the places you want to visit before deciding if you really need a car. :)

Oh, one more unavoidable cab-ride on my upcoming trip - Portuguese Village for seafood! :)

hey habros,
u look like someone with lots of experience in malaaca.

I have cravings for seafood as well! but none is near my hotel as far as i researched. do u have a recommendation ? probly one that would not be overpriced or cheated for.

am i correct to say that, i can just go on "ka" and gia gia around my hotel, and i would still find places of interests?

Only becoz I got crazy and went there an average of every 2 months, this year. :s13:

Depends on what you consider "of interest", like for me, I've not stepped into any of their museums. :o

Check out some of these sites to get a better idea of where you'd like to go. I like Google Map coz it can indicate the route and time taken to reach a place by cab or on foot.
