Thanks for the update :D

Really have to kudos to the Ubiquiti staff whom compile the change log, it's a pleasure to just to go through. The amount of information is superb ;) and the community participation is really awesome as well. Just based on this, definitely it got my vote :D Something that other mainstream networking vendors should learn.

Does Ubiquiti offers a router that has a combination of wired and wireless connection?

Currently they do not. ER-POE does have an extended ecosystem where you can use ER-POE to power their UniFi access points (except the 802.11ac one which requires more voltage than ER-POE supplies IIRC)

Thanks for the information.

How do you all manage with wired and wireless connection? Having 2 different devices?

Yup :)

If you have ER-POE you can also purchase an inexpensive POE splitter to power any ordinary access point (D-Link, Asus etc.) so that's also a nice option to have if your house is cabled up.

For ER-POE, no 48v power supply provided. Its fine if you're using to power only the 24v propriety UniFi vanilla models less maybe AP Pro and AC

And also, the datasheet have never claimed any 802.3af standard support. So it is possible no off the market poe splitter will work.

You can buy Ubnt-MTik passive PoE splitters lah.

Not all off-market splitters are 802.1af also...

How is this compared to ASUS routers?

Thanks.
Bro do pardon me but you're comparing apples to oranges here...

- No wifi
- Not user friendly for general home use
- Not suitable for home scenario without additional equipment (switch and wifi AP)\
- No value-added features for home users like USB NAS/sharing, etc.

I mean in terms of the connection speed.

I managed to test the EdgeRouter Lite to 970Mbps symmetrical with NAT and firewall rules.

Hi fellow users of EdgeMax routers (ERL, ERPOE, etc),

I have raised a feature request to Ubiquiti to have IPv6 Support in GUI. I believe you can help to let Ubiquiti team knows the demand of it and make it happen in 2014, simply by goto to the post link below and click "Kudos".

https://community.ubnt.com/t5/EdgeM...port-in-Management-GUI-Interface/idi-p/661583

Thanks and may all of us who use EdgeMax routers benefit from the little efforts each of us contribute.

Kudos-ed. But personally not a IPv6 user yet myself. Good to see this firmware getting more improvements. ;)
