Hi guys,

Whenever I start the camera / video app, there are lines on it. I notice this happens only when I'm on wifi and in a low light / dark background.

I have repaired it 2 times and the service centre has changed its camera, its mainboard ( they claim), but the problem still persist.

the third time, they said they can't do anything and they will email my video proof to their headquarter for a solution but it will take weeks. Mean while, I can take my phone back but they still refuse to give me a replacement.

I wonder whether this is an isolated case or all note 3 are having the same problem.

are there a note 3 user here that has same problem as mine?

it is similar to some one who has posted it on you tube here:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Camera problem WiFi Bug - YouTube

This is my video version taken from note 3:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7qtg2f6r9aqurf9/2014-02-10 12.35.25.mp4

and apparently there is a thread about this problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483703

I tried at least two note 3 display at Samsung Paragon just now and both are having this problem. With wifi on, open the camera app and focus it to a dark background or cover it with your hand and wait for a while, you should see lines coming on and off.

No, it is not dust. it has lines, black, white and sometimes red lines...you should check the youtube video, it is exactly the same as mine although it is not as many as in the video.

I had it....very very disappointed! I am fighting with the service centre to give me a replacement but they insist on repairing my phone! And my phone is hardly 3 days old! Luckily I i did not sell off my iPhone....Apple is expensive but their service is really good. I am going to keep away from Samsung until they improve their service standards....:-(

Nope don't have such issue on my set. Only snowy video which is typical of camera in low light condition.

If it is only 3 days, Samsung should DOA the phone and give you a new one. Please escalate to their management. The customer facing staff may not have the authority to change it.

if its within a week, u should go back to the place where u bought from. why go service centre?

Singtel retail shops offer 1-1 exchange within a week.

Samsung Experience Store offers 1-1 exchange within 3 days.

I totally understand TS' problem.
My first Note 3, bought during launch week, did not have this problem but had loose rubber dust on the camera lens. Black spots on photos, can physically see the black rubber dust on lens. Went service centre on 3rd day of owning a Note 3 and they changed the camera module and returned my phone in 3 hours.

With the new camera module, I then had these lines. In photos and in videos. Very annoying. called, wrote (on website), emailed Samsung and only after many exchanges and only after 3 months did they finally agree to do a 1 for 1 exchange for me.

Current Note 3 no more issues.

Problem is with the camera module installed on your note 3.

1st visit to change the camera module due to dust problem after 3 days was to Marina Square Service Center.

Next visit was 3 months later to get the 1 to 1 exchange, also at Marina Square Service Center.

In between, all calls and emails and website live chat, etc.

Damm unlucky. I don't think Samsung is the only one that does repair. Only Apple does a refurbished 1 to 1 and i think only twice you can do the exchange, not sure what will happen at the 3rd time. My friend exchanged twice and they told her that, 1st time battery problem then within 1 month she suddenly saw a big black dust on the photos she took :s13:
