so what kind of user needs or will benefit from this? If you already have an Asus Essence STX, and a desktop amp, do you need/benefit from this?

Having multi interfaces it could potentially be an all in one solution for someone who says wants a DAC/audio interface for a desktop, XBOX and lappie i.e all share one device loh Traditional PCI/PCIe sound cards will see out their service only on a PC motherboard hehe

Considering the performance should only get better than STX (else what's the point of the linear power supply and blue capacitors), $550 is not expensive, when there are many other brands selling at the same price point and delivering lackluster performance, feeding on the naivety of audiophiles with "what I pay is what I get" beliefs.

Just that, the name Asus and its connection with PCs and sound cards may not sound convincing to close-minded "open-minded" people who think that good sound for same money must come from brands that "specialize" in audio equipment(S) involving boutique parts and quantum physics.

Then again, Asus may be going to the dark side, how would I know.

I don't understand how the retail price can differ so much between Singapore and European country. Greed or Singapore distributor is not smart enough to negotiate good value with Asus

Retail price is 334.20 euro in Germany.

No bull**** about GST, Germany also hava Value Added Tax to pay. The 19% sales tax included in the 334.20 Retail price.

I don't see this item in most of the pricelists in HWZ, is this product out yet?
