Hi all,

Using iPhone 3GS on Starhub 3G here. At times my 3G doesn't even load at all. Like whatsapp and facebook. I need to turn off my 3G then can access. Seem like 3G doesnt let me connect to them but once i off 3G i can connect at a very slow speed. Anybody encounter this?

Ported over to m1 recently for iphone. Just recieved my SH hp bill today. The envelope have this..

" Now there's a faster way to get your smartphone's date. Starhub brings you the WORLD's 1st Smartphone Intelligent Signalling Solution"

Okay.. so what is the above? lol.. I'm just curious.. i thought the above means their 3G speed will be number 1?

For the moment i see my SH envelope, i a bit regretted porting over to m1.

it depends on area. i think to be fair to the telcos. they are stronger in certain areas and weaker in some. but i think most important of all signal must be strong at your own home because thats where you spend most of your time. if your telco's signal is not strong there, then I suggest you jump ship to one that has got strong signal at your home.

Btw, tomorrow is D-day for Starhub. Starhub is supposed to call me back to give me a solution for the poor reception at my area. And one of the customer manager said that they will call me tomorrow to give me a solution. And I told them that if they do not have a solution, I am going to jump ship. And I told them flat in the face that they can go ahead and charge me the penalty of $300, and I am not going to pay. And I told them to go ahead and sue/ban me for life for all i care.

Their signal at my area is very weak, and I can hardly surf the net on my 3G signal. And they told me that they have no future plans to install more base stations at my area. So, too bad. I am not going to stick with a telco who does not have any plans to make my life better.

Btw, my case has dragged for 6 mths already, and so far, I have spoken to 3 different customer service managers already. It has escalated to a point where I have to say enuff is enuff.

Send emails with screenshots of Ookla Speed Test App results page to Chan Kin Hung Head, Products and Solutions. Email: this or this.
CC: Tan Tong Hai, StarHub COO. Email: this or this.

Tip: For them to respond favourably, it's best that the emails are well-written & compelling with a good tone of voice. No one likes to read emails that bombard & pik piak.

I like what you said and have done, do keep us posted of the developments ok? Why should customers be made to pay for a service that is not provded or provided poorly. That in itself is a breach of contract and Starhub or the other telcos must be taken to task.

Tan Tong Hai is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Starhub. He was formally the CEO of the Singapore Computer Systems (SCS) until brought out and merged with NCS. His former email address in SCS was tanth@scs.com.sg, so you may want to try this email address tanth@starhub.com too.

i called up Stuckhub today and scolded the poor cso who answer the line.
i told them after last week unplan outages of starhub 3g signal, since that day, my speedwise wasnt quite up to my standard. i told them i won't be paying extra for services like that if it continues to be slow.
she somemore says 3g is free bundle.
i **** her that theres increase in subscription.
then tell me to on off iphone and try again as there is another plan outage today she said. maybe thats why i couldn't surf fast.

i seriously dun understand why im paying additional 10+ for 12gb 3g when the speed is like gprs.

All the telcos are bad here in Singapore.

SH has been getting worst with the new CEO.

I thought I am the only one who's experiencing this problem. I will always have 3G connection and at least 3-4 bars reception. It seems like the connection will randomly drop even though there's no error, when loading webpages the spinning load icon will just keep going but the page won't load, same with Facebook and whatsapp. I can leave the 3g on all day at the same spot at home and at one time it will work perfectly, after maybe one or two hours later it won't work even though it's just been on standby all the while.

I don't know if it's the iPhone or the network, though it's for certain that network conditions are getting worst and worst for the past year. I remember 2 years back when I first got the usb mobile internet from SH there was no problems at all. Then around the time when SH first started selling iPhone, it will start to take ages to load a simple page and keep getting network error. Not sure if that's the case for singtel.
