It's been silent with new graphics card releases from Nvidia. We've mentioned it a couple of times already, we really do not expect Volta with HBM2 to reach consumer grade graphics anytime soon. The chatter is about to get big as the first indications are here that Nvidia will be launching a GA104, a GPU called Ampere, on April 12th.

I don't that will work... There are mining cards already out there but most miners will still get the standard version because they can sell after they are done with it or change to a more efficient one.

There won't be any after market value with mining cards as no one else wants them.

Never works. The miners will just find a way to flash bios of normal cards to mining cards. Because there is no way Nivdia or AMD gonna waste time on 2 different production lines. The most they would do is mod the bios.

They are stretching the product cycle with a refresh. Meh, wanted a consumer base Volta with its hardware scheduler or at least have it added to the ampere product line.

Two years already is confirm not refresh.

Both companies already did their refreshes for this gen. For AMD it's 400 series to 500 series, for nVidia is they dun give a fk with rebranding because 1000 series selling well enough as it is but the newer ones did get faster ram.

I am willing to bet its not refresh.

It will be new architecture that is as fast or even faster than titan V in games.

Standard Green army SOP

GTX 2080TI = GTX 1080 TI + 35-50% increase
GTX 2080 = GTX 1080 TI
GTX 2070 = GTX 1080
GTX 2060 = GTX 1070 - GTX 1070 TI
GTX 2050Ti = GTX 1060 - GTX 1070
