Xz when taking pic only will still over heat meh ?

Some users once see a flaw/issue than will boycott the product.
Samsung S7 note was one fine example but despite it's flaw.
Because it's K product that is why people still support it. :s13:

Review usually are controlled and paid by the manufacturers.
Review usually take just use it as reference, which I also that
at that time the phone is using a certain software/firmware.

Down the road, certain issues maybe fixed or features improved
thus the review may not be accurate.
Sony does listen to customers thus I will try to see whether
can I speak to them about shooting too long in hot weather.

This again can be fixed but not firmware but rather maybe
I suggest to them to design a heat insulator camera grip
for XZ series phones.

Currently the issue that I suspect is the SG weather heats up the phone
thus I think there should be a insulator to help dissipate the heat.
Usually when I post I do non-bias, after all everyone want's a good phone right?

Photo wise that is some that I can share, printing those photos I also find it challenge.
Yes I still print photos for my family, old school but if I were to print.

Guess I will stick to my Sony RX100 camera. :)

So far my Xperia XZ camera does not over-heat. Maybe that's because I don't leave the camera on all the time. I only launch the app, when i need to take the shot.

My encounter is outdoor + over an hour.
I do not wish to mislead that the camera overheat once
you open the camera app.
No not like that.

I am a outdoor/nature person, sometimes use my phone
as backup camera.
Indoor wise no issue for sure.
Still waiting to talk with Sony about outdoor shooting.

Both recombo and gsmarena review mentioned that XZP runs cooler than previous phone...
Let's wait till we got our hands on the actual unit and see if they had improved it...

Whilst camera usage and high fidelity gaming will cause heat build-up it's far less noticeable compared to older Sony handsets and comparable with similarly specced smartphones from other manufacturers.

Sony has employed a new thermal-spreading architecture - there are no heat pipes, just a special 3-layer copper plating running across the entire back and taking the heat from the evenly spread chipset, camera, and display driver across the body. The new component design has allowed for great heat distribution, so you will never feel the Xperia XZ Premium running hot even when watching 4K HDR videos for a long time. It's one of the coolest flagships around, and we give Sony the credit for that.

They only had bad reviews by some major paid sites.

In real life my Xperia phones usually take better pictures than my friends with sammy phones, compared side by side.

They have bad skills or I am a better shooter?
I am no professional with camera anyway. :D

I tend to pixel peep, so it's pretty obvious.

Well, XA Ultra can shrink the entire display or just shrink the keyboard to either side as well...maybe Sony didn't think 5.5 inch is big enough...:s13:

My Z5P definitely feels warmer than my X compact when playing games or prolonged use of camera.

Other functions the Z5P will not heat up too much.

Had brought my Z3+ to oversea with my friends before during summer few years back...my friend's LG G3 camera crashed and Galaxy S4/5 camera started lagging very badly due to heat as well...(they complained their phone became rather hot and unable to launch camera for a while) so definitely not just Sony's issue which is what everyone is making it sounds like...

A few things I did find out was that Z3+ seem to heat up much quicker when using both data and GPS. Therefore causing Maps and camera to start lagging much earlier. My XZ do not have these issue, unless prolonged use. It seem to absorb heat from it's surrounding pretty well even when off...(eg. hot sun/body heat..):s13:

As a Sony user of Z1, Z2 and Z5P,

Overheating of camera during hot weather is not uncommon. At least all my 3 Sony phones has such experience. But Z5P has the highest frequency of them all. Maybe due to the infamous snapdragon 810.

I hope snapdragon 835 is able to tackle the problem and Sony maybe need to look into some sort of design or additional material to prevent the heat of chipset being transferred to camera unit and resulting overheating and need to shut down camera for protection purposes.

Think should be much better, XZ with SD820 already can be used for much longer than SD810..even my colleague with Nexus 6p upgraded to other SD820 device due to this issue...

Just spoke to a representative at Sony about this.
Unfortunately nothing to do with chipset or software.
Like haylui mention I also suggest to them about a rubber heat insulation add on camera grip.

I also agree, instead of the metal frame absorbing the heat a insulator material should be on top of it to help absorb the heat.
I also mention I do not blame Sony since the phone is designed in Japan
thus it may not be optimized for SG hot weather.

Also suggest to them just take a XZ put under hot sun, whether will it heat up fast or not I leave it up to them.
FYI this case is ongoing, I will try to work with Sony to come out with a solution for this. :)
I also have Z2 but that one is not due to weather overheating but prolong usage.

Z2 is much irritating is sometimes half an hour than the overheat warning pops. XZ depends on condition, most of the time the overheat won't prompt only in hot conditions/sun than it will.

Yes, all phones with S810 chip are known to heat up faster and at slightly higher temperatures.

Since S820, the situation is supposed to be better since Qualcomm is using their customized cores compared to those of S810 chip.
