I just went in bro. I never do any in depth research . Just got look at the financial statements. Its healthy just that the price increased alot recently. Been watching this since it was 570 and regretted nv buy then. They are local maker of iphone charger. Supplier to tesla, american car company and its acquisition of interplex makes it obe of the biggest precison engineering company.

Just nw now the price is abit expensive. Everyday increase price by 20 to 30 for a week alr. I see alr gave in to my demons n bought 2 lots. Since im a student

Bro Regretfully nott on scb platform. I need 6 trades to open account. I just hoping it will stay or increase I happy already. Im confident in the business. And abitnof speculation on price increase. Its a gamble I would say.

Expect a correction and consolidation soon though. Don't panic if it happens. I didn't do any FA on it. I'm sure you have. You'll probably have more info on whether to long or not.

Just breifly looked though the financial stats I got from a trial account at ShareInvestor. Com .

Honestly, quite scared cause first time buying without thinking much.

Agree at the FA but looking at chart not as confident ... lol

Yes I will open one asap. Hmm I dont I will sell if i lose more than 300. The cs rep told me I need 6 trades to be able to open scb account. Sigh hope can have some kopi money

Not to worry Temasek is a long term investor in Amtek since its ipo in 2009-2010 at $1.30 ,with its purchase of US term in line with recovery in U.S..Amtek gives regular dividends

I ever sold at $1.25 ...during ipo at first dropped to 1.02.which I bought and sold at $1.25 and after that downhill all the way to <50cts Now shd be on the uptrend

SINGAPORE – Amtek Engineering plans to acquire United States-based Interplex Industries for as much as US$210 million (S$267 million) to create one of the world’s largest precision engineering services firms, the Singapore-listed company said yesterday.

Interplex is a global leader in the design and manufacture of miniature precision engineered solutions for customised electronic applications.

It serves industries including automotive, industrial/electrical, mobile devices, and more recently, medical original equipment manufacturers.

In the six months to November, the company generated revenue of US$182.4 million.

The enlarged entity will have total revenue of about US$1 billion annually from operations in 15 countries, where it employs 13,500 staff. The deal is expected to be completed in the first half of next year, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.

The precision engineering industry in Singapore generates around S$35 billion in revenue each year and is a key area in the manufacturing sector here.

Amtek currently has operations in several countries in the region including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. By buying Interplex, it gains a foothold in the US, Mexico, Hungary and India.

Amtek Chairman and Chief Executive Daniel Yeong said: “Interplex’s miniature precision engineered solutions, blue chip customer base and global footprint are highly complementary to Amtek.”

The purchase price includes a base amount of US$165 million to be paid at the closing of the transaction, a deferred payment of US$11 million and earn-out payments of up to US$34 million that are based on the operating earnings of Interplex from fiscal 2014 to fiscal 2016.

Before the after-market announcement yesterday, Amtek shares closed up 2.9 per cent at 54 cents each. WITH CHANNEL NEWSASIA

now its 4.5% due to increase in price. while dividend per share is the same, price of the stocks increase and thus dividend yield decreased to 4.5%
