is china's possible stock market crash going to trigger a major global correction?

not possible, right?

institutional investors are not vested in china's stock market.

there is still rampant QE from EU, JP, while CN is having fun devaluing their currency.

US market, though slow, has also been having a good employment data.

share your thoughts, please.

ok, folks, probably there's not much analysis in this sector...

as the china stock market is mostly funded by retail investors as compared to institutional investors, unlike it's US counterpart.

the recent 5% drop on Friday, from the chinese authorities probe...

is this going to pan out as an eventual meltdown of the chinese indexes?

or

is this a great time to enter?

share your thoughts please.

If the Chinese economy is not going to grow as fast as in the past why not wait?

China's still stuffed and I wouldn't want to own it.

Inflating the bubble in the first place was a bloody stupid policy decision. And trying to prop it up was even more stupid - when the government said "we're going to buy as much index delta as it takes to hold the market above 3500"... well, look how well that went. They ended up having to pull their bid because of all the leveraged idiots getting stopped out into their bid.

I think in the long term it goes back to where it was before this dopey bubble started - the low to mid 2000s.

I think your question of "is it a good time to enter" already got answered on the other thread you started about the Chinese stock market.

As someone pointed out upthread, the Chinese stock market crash already happened, and I'm not sure how you missed it. It went in a straight line from 5000 to 3000, a few months back, and the only thing keeping it in the 3s is that the Chinese government has bought stupendous amounts - like, hundreds of billions of dollars - of index delta.

There is no "true" free market. Some are closer and some are further. Tiagong... China fits the latter. :o Now, they want to investigate the brokers. Market down 5%. :( Regulator can say all they want. If one day, they say all transaction must be at price >= than yesterday's. Horsey liao... :D

cause SG is connected to China, through it's trade, I guess.

China numbers should be doctored somewhat...

& the gov is trying to engineer a soft-landing.

so with a decline in china's numbers, sg should be amongst the first to feel the effect of slower growth?

hi Shiny Things...

as always, thanks for your input.

yup, I did noticed the correction / crash from 5000s to 3000s on the shanghai index.

I am wondering if this China Large-Cap ETF play is going to be a good long-term investment, as it's eventual that China would continue to grow as a poor to an eventual richer country.

I understand that most of the investors are retail investors in the china market, which makes things abit more volatile, as compared to the american counterpart.

but again, there's the issue of the china gov trying to influence the market, as it is wary of it going on a free-fall if it does not intervene it...

hmmm... probably better for me to ask u these questions under the China ETF thread that I started on the other thread.

:)
