hihi, thx for resources...just wondering..i am kinda low on cash but still want to test the water..how much should I begin with, say few hundreds bucks or must be few thousands bucks...and which of the brokers about brings lower commission to a tiny beginner like me...thx a lot...

Need a few thousnad at least otherwise not cost effective since there's min commission.

I suggest u invest with your spare cash.

actually it cost less to buy online right?wonder why my broker kept askin me to give her my dbs acct nbt so she can buy for me when i say i wanna putchase online,must be after the commission right?

of course u need to pay commision to the brokerage firms.

only the IPO from the underwriting firms dont' charge commision, because the commission is usually included in the IPO price.

just to check:

do I need to open an acct with SGX or I just need to open an acct with the trading firms?

which is the recommended trading firms? Cos I am a newbie so not sure how to proceed.

There we goes again, Made in Singapore, educated under the Singapore-educational system mentality, need to be spoonfeed with every single piece of darn information. *sigh*

Generally the brokerage houses listed in the thread have a 'Get Started' section where newbiew can start to get in touch with a little knowledge of investment.....helps to get one started with some basic investment knowledge and even there are even a dictionary to explain the lingo of those financial terms....so for god sake take some of your lobo time and read thru those sites.
