Few months ago alrdy came out news say going to spin off an OUE REIT. Dun know if the current chiong could be the beginning of that just like ex-OPH/current-FEOrchard?

Anybuttie following/for this counter can share your comments on its TA? tq :)

[SINGAPORE] A sale could be in the offing for the landmark Mandarin Orchard Singapore and the adjoining Mandarin Gallery which were valued at $1.18 billion and $520 million at the end of last year.

Owner Overseas Union Enterprise (OUE) is said to have been receiving interest from potential buyers particularly for the hotel for some time now and has maintained that it will sell the property if it receives a price too good to refuse.

Now, market talk is that OUE has given exclusivity to a potential buyer to perform due diligence. Some sources point to a US property fund manager - possibly Pramerica - teaming up with a Middle Eastern player, which some suggest could be Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

In July, a fund linked to Pramerica Real Estate Investors (Asia) sold a half stake in nex mall here next to Serangoon MRT Station for $825 million. Pramerica Asia is the real estate investment management arm of Prudential Financial. The deal valued the mall at $1.65 billion, or about $2,679 per square foot (psf) based on the current net lettable area.

i read TODAY saying that if they sell their certain stake their property division, they can easily bid for the whole F&N themselves, but they wanna have partnership to hedge their risk. Besides, OUE is only interested in the property arms, they don't really want the drink business, so why not let kirin join in and both parties are happy :s13:

If OUE decides to purchase, the share price will be on negative view because usually the company is more incline to raise rights, take out a loan to fund the takeover, give less dividends or no dividends at all, all these small details investors will take note.

But on the long run, it will be good for OUE :)

OUE is owned by lippo malls btw :s12:

This whole M&A story started off with Heinekken, ThaiBev, FNN and APB. Now it's become APB-FNN-Kirin-ThaiBev-OUE. Really an exciting story, imagine the amount of business for the consultancy firms out there.
