I can think of lack of liquidity + fear.
Investors running for the door once they heard of management manipulation but the door is lock because they cannot find a counterparty to sell to.

That's how the market interpreted it. What they did was a dishonest act which made investors panicked. And my guess is they manipulated the market for their personal gain although the actual investigation will take years to prove legally.

so what if they are connected to each other? that doesnt necessarily means manipulation mah? Market really like to come out with its own assumptions
