Hi I wanna know how much can I expect to get if I will to invest a S$100,000 onto reits? I have zero experience on reit investment and I wish to know how do I calculate their dividend payout rate. What are the things I need to know. Where can I open an account and invest?

Why are you investing in something you know nothing about?
You are better off investing in STI ETF.

Read about reits from books,
Author Bobby Jayaraman, Building Wealth Through REITs

Read about investing, there are a few threads on investment books recommendations. example...

Also, investopedia is a good guide.
Read articles, blogs, forums and whatever you can find. Attend free seminars but don't sign up for anything until you have a solid grasp of what investing is.

As for how to open an account, here's the sticky thread

Opening of account comprises mainly of a CDP and a trading account, that's it. Any broker will do and it's free. It's that simple.
Would suggest you use SCB as your capital is only 100k. It would be more worth it unless you are trading in 9-10k each time.

Things u need to know:
1. What are REITs
2. What are the risk factors
3. What contribute to the valuation of REITs
4. Impact of rising interest rate
5. Supply and demand of office/commercial/retail space
6. growth strategy of the REITs
7. What are the strategies in place to mitigate the various risk factors

jus some of the things i can think of right now.

Before you even talk about reits investment, perhaps you should ask yourself this question:
1. What's your risk profile
2. What's your timeframe
3. What's your objective
4. Why reits
5. What's your experience when it comes to investment

Not sure how anyone can provide any relevant advise if these are not known, at least I cannot.

Everyone will have their own set of suggestions how then do you know which are best suited for your case?

Your question is quite broad. It really depends on which REITs you bought. On average, you can expect 4% to 5% of return, not considering capital gains. However, do note that they are like shares and you can lose your capital.

you have to ensure the reit or shares you buy can create share holder value.

there are many companies out there can only do left pocket right pocket transactions to smoke the share holders. no value creation at all!
eg. acquisition, dividends, rights issue, share buy back

Okay folks! Im back after one year.. hehehe. No I haven't done any investment yet. Not that Im lazy but bcos I haven't got the money yet. The stupid lawyer is damn slow in his processing. Need to sell away all private properties, cars and oversea factories and land before I can get my shares.

I am not someone who is good at investment or making money.. That is why im here seeking advice on how to make good use of my money. 700k was the initial amount we calculated but after all the oversea factories and land being process by oversea lawyer the final amount is far way above the initial amount we tot we will get.

"NPNT"? Well I dun have to prove anything to anyone at all.. Why should I? Forum is the place I can talk about this cos ppl here dunno who I am.

Okay first of all.. I am not the admin for this.. The admin is my aunt.. selected by my other aunties and uncles. Lawyer is engaged by them.. I did mention of changing to another law firm many times but they insist on carry on. Maybe they are rich ppl so they can drag as long time also nvm. FYI im not from rich family.. My Dad pass away many years ago and I m just a working class who need to work and support my Mum. Thats why I do not know how to handle much of this inheritance things.. and also investment stuff..

Really i do not have to tell you every single detail of me do i? Yes I admit already get some $$$ but the amount wasnt so big that I can throw into investment yet. I have some other liabilities to settle first.

So now u got 100k? or still waiting for 100k?
