Quite a hefty discount to the old closing price and TERP. Good if you are a long-term investor in this.

Sing Investments & Finance

Sing Investments & Finance saw its third-quarter net profit rise by 16.7 per cent to $4.1 million.

Net interest income and hiring charges for the three months to Sept 30 climbed by 5.3 per cent to $9.6 million.

Profit from operations before impairment losses increased by $500,000 or 9 per cent, mainly due an increase of $2.5 million or 15.1 per cent in interest income and hiring charges due to higher loan yield.

This was partially offset by an increase in interest expense of $2 million or 27.2 per cent due to higher interest payable on deposits resulting from larger deposit base and higher prevailing interest rates.

Sing Investments' Lee family buys S$2.4m of shares at S$1.53 apiece
Wed, Nov 29, 2017 - 1:38 PM Kenneth Lim kenlim@sph.com.sg

THE controlling family of Sing Investments & Finance bought S$2.4 million of the lender's shares at S$1.53 apiece on Wednesday, raising its stake by just under one percentage point.
The FH Lee Holdings - an investment vehicle for the family of Sing Investments managing director Lee Sze Leong, director Lee Sze Siong and Sing Holdings chief executive Lee Sze Hao - acquired the 1.55 million shares through a married deal on Wednesday, according to a disclosure filing during the Singapore Exchange's midday break.
The purchase price was a 1.9 per cent discount to the stock's opening price of S$1.56 on Wednesday. As at 1.24pm, Sing Investments was trading at S$1.55, down 1.3 per cent or two Singapore cents on the day.
The Lees now have a combined stake of just under 29.1 per cent, which is still below the 30 per cent threshold that would trigger a mandatory general offer.

Get to know this company via GoSavers and good FD during 2023 CNY. Didn't know they are listed in SGX. Their business quite boring same as Hong Leong Finance but throughout the years they give quite ok dividends. Ppl not enough monies to buy DBS,OCBC,UOB can consider this finance company. PE ratio < 10, PB ratio < 1 and they just got bonus issue this year. Con is their market cap is only about 200+ mil.

Hong Leong Finance market cap is at 1,121.20 mil much bigger but share price much higher of cuz. This also can consider as PE ratio < 10, PB ratio < 1. Con is such stock unlike banks do not shoot up the roof so if buy and think of capital gain think twice. Buy just for dividends can consider.

Hmm you seem to be shopping quite a fair bit recently. Maybe its good time for me to take a look at the market too, considering you are a very careful kiamsiap person. To have you start shopping is usually a good sign of bargains appearing liao.

Becuz DBS OCBC DBS really cost a lot even for 100 shares. Since fish hard to get then I look for prawns lor.

Hong Leong Finance - 1st choice
Sing Investment & Finance - 2nd choice
Singapura Finance - 3rd choice this one not so good I think I may skip

Their PE ratio < 10, PB ratio < 1 ROE ok but they not like the 3 banks price will shoot up the roof so if buy please consider this. I think I buy just for dividends treat them like REITS. As for whether they will close shop also a consideration becuz afterall they are not banks just finance companies even though they got long history.
