Maybe down for maintenance?
Or the owner of the forum forgot to renew the site?
How long has it been down?

Yeah.. But now it is gone.

I am sure many of ex buddies, (of course including DW) are still lurking around this forum. Please share if you know more, thanks!

There are some bugs. I don't think I saw any parting message. Give cyclone some time to bring it up again. It is just a small website that does not have much funding as HWZ.

I see, thanks for the info, there was a short parting message on the first day it was down. I thought the MDA licensing scheme finally kicked in and took the site down:s22:

I even setup a back up valuebuddies site, just in case it doesn't ever come back online again :s13:

I saw the parting message too. Something like 'thank you for your support all these years' or something like that.

Let's get our fact right. The MDA licensing scheme does not applies to forums like valuebuddies. So definitely has nothing to do with that; so let's not spread false rumours.

I'm hoping it is a temporary glitch but it wont be the first time a forum like valuebuddies has come and gone. I think what is probably more sad is that the valuable nuggets of gems that was in the forum are gone (unless they have been archived somehow)

Oh well. Life goes on.

I clarify once again that that was what I "thought". Not my intention to spread false rumours, I do not "know" what happened to valuebuddies (hence the thread) hope no one misunderstands me.

It is not once or twice that Valuebuddies was threatened to be taken down though.

Huh, why would a forum like that be threatened to be taken down?

There was an request by lawyers of a certain 'investment company' to remove 2 or 3 threads a few weeks ago. A certain blog post by ST Money was also removed due to this threat of legal action. Sometimes the truth too hard to handle. ;0 Don't ask me which one, I won't say. :s13:

But I think current problem is just technical. Cyclone had some issues and had restored the site from a backup just a week ago. Looks like the restoration did not work well.

I certainly hope so, but if all else failed, you may consider using my backup site:s13:

Unfortunately, HWZ doesn't have the length and depth of discussion for alot of stocks. Mostly REITs are covered only.

This is what I like about value buddies too. The length and depth is something that cannot be matched by hwz and the crappy cna-market talk forum. Even share investor forum is not as good.
