ok, i got this because to me best bang for the buck at $598 Funan Newstead roadshow
Was at first keen on toshiba NB520(Atom 570ion one-I think no HDMI and just 250GB HD and 1G RAM and win7 starter only) or the toshiba 550D(AMD fusion but only 1Ghz speed)

1215B lie more powderful
1. 12 inch instead of other 10 inches
2. CPU 1.6Ghz with ATI Radeon GPU
3 500GB HD instead of 320GB for other netbook
4 2G Ram instead of 1G for other netbook
5 Win7 home premium instead of home starter

First set i got had faulty touchpad....sometimes not register my touch, erratic response with different pressure...changed another set now charging, so far so good...

thanks for starting this thread for 1215B

For starters...if you plan to play games on this netbook...check out this article review
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtOU...utube.com/watch?v=MtOUUq551GA&feature=related

PLAYING street fight 4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV5bwSYLsOY&feature=related

PLAYING L4D2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZJoidBlnkw&feature=related

PLAYING FEAR2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4nQn9goI7Q&feature=related

PLAYING Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2nN1ST6wes&feature=related

And a comprehensive review with videos & graphic comparsion charts
http://www.netbooklive.net/asus-eee-pc-1215b-review-8726/

Dont let the "low" windows experience score fool you..because by default it takes the lowest score. if you look at other netbooks, its not easy to find a netbook with scores higher than this netbook and able to play high graphics games

I personally tried this netbook at my friend's house over the weekends.. and its a freaking amazing netbook...

I played DOTA with mid settings & HDMI video out to my friend's 32" LCD TV with minimum lag... I only experience lag when 8 heroes are in the same place at the same time, casting spells...

Tried out WoW also... at mid-low setting with HDMI video out to 32" LCD TV.. also no problem...except when its crammed with alot of players...

cant wait for my pay to come in so that i can get this netbook =D

isn't it great to have such a powerful & light-weight netbook able to flawlessly play 1080p full HD video?

and the purpose is to test the netbook's graphical performance...if a netbook of this size can process a 1080p full HD video flawlessly, you can install & play almost any kind of games on it

at similar price range, some laptops can't even process 720p or 1080p video files...

well...the screen is not full HD screen, because it kinda dumb to use a 12" full HD screen but don't forget...u can always HDMI video out to a full HD LCD/LED TV, if you find 12" too small =)

Err.... my advice is look for Intel i series with decent graphics instead
cuz photoshop can be quite demanding especially on CPU.
Alternative I suggest waiting for AMD fusion A series which
will be released in july.

If u're using mspaint or photoshop that are less demanding
than possible. Even if it doesn't hurt to really try. :D
But it may crawl when running.

i fully understood this sub-notebook is capable for 1080p video. my pt is that playing a 720p video on this sub-notebook shld b "clearer" than a 1080p video on its' screen. this is bcoz a 1080p video will need to shrink a lot in size to fit the screen causing it not as clear if compared to as a 720p video. anyway, we may not able to notice it... :s8:

to me more important is screen's height in resolution. if u r doing a lot of these, better get 1 with full HD resolution (ie. 1920x1080) or at least 1600x900. but it costs more, usually >1.5k.
the usual/common resolution of 1366x768 is often too "short" to b comfortable for these purposes.
do note that buying a big 15.6" with 1366x768 resolution will not solve the problem i mentioned.
so go for full HD 1920x1080.

He...he... AMD Fusion big brother A-series has been ship
but now waiting for laptops especially from Asus
to build it. :D

AMD A-series comes with either dual-core or quad core
but with mid-range radeon 6 graphics suitable for
photoshop.

I would expect good prices to combat laptops that
comes with Intel i-series with HD graphics.
