Proposal Ring

Anyone getting one soon?

So many in the market don't know which to choose. GoldHeart and Lee Hwa is my choice now.

Budget around 1k

that's a 60,60... tricky fellas that sneak into the 3 exc category... but honestly, thats rather high priced vs the quality. Since we're on this topic, if you saw the video recently posted, this diamond would look somewhere between diamond 1 and diamond 2.

how do i put this simply for guys to understand.....

The biggest factor that affects a diamond's appearance is it's cut. That is staring right in your face, how it looks, and performs, shines. it's like buying a good looking high performance car?

next stuff you want to look at is the size, color clarity and stuff like that, which you can prioritize based on your preference. I don't understand sometimes why people buy big rocks that look bad, you're losing out

Hey Dawn, thanks for the comments. So is it true that 60,60 stones generally get an "excellent" for the cut despite potentially high HCA scores and being visually less striking like the stone I showed?

You kind of answered yourself from the certificate :s12:

The HCA is a great elimination tool, anything above 2 isn't really worth considering really, the scopes like the aset and idealscope is even more important, a nice score means it's worth to look at under the scopes

and then there's minor facets like star facets and lower girdle lengths:s12:

Hi BiGhaPPyJer, for your budget, which I guess is around S$15k, you can get a 1.133 ct G VS1 ACA from whiteflash with HCA of 1.2 @ around S$14760, before shipping and GST.

This is just a reference, like all the others here said, go pay JannPaul a visit, rest assure you won't be pushed into buying anything on the spot. :)

Hard to say.. the colour and the clarity of the diamond affects the price differently.. Plus yours was over 0.6ct right? Once it hits over 0.50ct, it a big leap in the price.

I'm still waiting for their designs though.

I think their business too good already.

Did they give you a timeline? They told me that mine would take about 1.5 months.. but I kept emailing them, telling them how excited I was to see the design and they manage to do it slightly earlier.. maybe you can do the same :s13:

Nope didn't gave me a date and I have yet to push for one.

Don't see a need to hurry them since even the ring holder also never push me. :s13:

oh wow second thread!

well, appointment with JP is tomorrow~ kinda excited! I belong to the noob class of people who need a good lesson on these expensive stones.. and to Dawn~ actually i have many gal friends who believe as long as it's big then ok le.. look grey or not they also can't tell cos in the jewellery shop almost everything looks bling.. i got quoted $20+k for a 1.23ct at L&C, on hindsight now the stone really looks grey neh.. (after staring at so many JP stones here that really shine la then i can tell, if not i also dunno de)
