Apparently, there was a firmware update for the router, after calling 1688 they have updated it and speed went back to normal.
Singtel customer service improved a lot arh

Those who recontracted, may I know where do I self collect the free modem? I did my recontract over the phone and was told to collect at comcentre. But I read in this thread some collected at 313 somerset. In the contract letter, it doesn't state any location. It just says self collect (no appt). The modem is a AC Plus.

I collected mine at 313.. I think only 313, comcentre is not giving out routers there I think, might be wrong though..

Hi, currently on 1gb Singtel fibre BB plan (no bundle) and first time going to change ISP. Would like to check whether is there a need for me to physically return the Singtel ont box back to comcentre to terminate the contract or just a call to Singtel to terminate will do? Thanks!

Just call will do. The equipments can dispose yourself..

Lol I think you got confused. Huawei is the onr. Ac plus is merely a router which can act as an ap when connected to onr.

The Singtel equipment provided for fiber is a modem with router or just a modem.

That means if I sign up, will I end up with two pieces of equipment. One for modem and one for routing. Two pieces even if I don’t need to have any wireless at home and hence don’t need a wireless router).

Nope, you have a lot to read up privately. There is no modem in fibre network. There’s only optical network terminal.

New SingTel subscribers will get optical network router. It’s a 2 in 1 device providing routing and it’s an ont as well. If you don’t need wireless, then onr is sufficient enough.

If you need wireless, SingTel packages in a router which is smart enough to automatically converts to an access point when you connect it to onr. Therefore coming down to just plug and play.

If a customer signs up for our fibre broadband service, he/she will get two pieces of equipment; an ONR which combines a modem and wired router, and a wireless AP for WiFi.

u need a media convertor from the ont port to your laptop

so for 1gbps unlimited fibre plan, is that vlan tagged or untagged plan? My plan with Singtel is only for internet services, no MIO tv, so should I use ONT port 1 or 2? Also, can I have internet access connecting laptop directly to ONT?

Is anyone experiencing bad connections recently? I am encountering ad-hoc disconnections with Skype for Business (Lync), StarCraft II and Hearthstone recently and I am suspecting it is due to packet losses. A few others on reddit are experiencing the same problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/singapore/...e_using_singtel_experiencing_high_amounts_of/. I am on Ethernet by the way.

I have still yet to receive a letter to collect my router from somerset. when can it be sent to me?
