Qn on SDIC on endowment.

I have a existing 5yr endowment plan with singlife.
Am keen to wack the 3 Yr endowment plan which is available now.
My qn is does sdic cover by per policy or by per insurer.

2.25%?
Got 2.28% from another insurer 3 years same

Endowments fall under under Policy Owner's Protection Scheme which is also administered by SDIC. It covers the "guaranteed surrender value at point of failure", does not guarantee premium paid or guaranteed value at maturity etc etc.

DO NOT get mixed up with the SDIC's 75k Deposit Insurance Scheme.

I recall SDIC website as some very mathematically confusing examples to illustrate the payout amount per Insurer for various scenarios...not as straight forward as I thought.



Endowments fall under under Policy Owner's Protection Scheme which is also administered by SDIC. It covers the "guaranteed surrender value at point of failure", does not guarantee premium paid or guaranteed value at maturity etc etc.

DO NOT get mixed up with the SDIC's 75k Deposit Insurance Scheme.

Fair point, but as partial compensation the SDIC coverage limit is somewhat higher for endowments.
