This entry level NAS certainly cut alot of corners from DS216+.
no 2GB ram, really cannot for me. Dual Core 1.2GHz is decent though. more often than not, 1 could easily exhausted the RAM but never the CPU.
The basic models are good to rival competitors offering, but at that price point as well as the specs, i would've gone for D-Link NAS instead.

It would be great if Synology can include in Web server as well...if Synology DS216j NAS has 2GB ram, might be able to allow 4K transcoding capability~
since there are 16TB of raw capacity, able function as FTP server, Print, webserver, independent download, iTunes and UPnP media sever, DLNA, storage server, photo server, video server, external USB hard disk support, One touch copy button, surveillance server, Cloud server.
But i think this drive is still better than the D-link 320/L 2-bay nasThis entry level NAS certainly cut alot of corners from DS216+.![]()

The DS216J has up to 16TB of raw capacity, allowing you to store all your data in one place for easy access anytime, anywhere. (24 words)
Synology DS216j specifications seems to be too good to be true for such as small unit with prices below $300 in local qoo10 website.
But seems like without HDMI connection to allow 4K transcoding capability.

wah this is really niceActually there is a Web Station in-built. You can use the inbuilt web station to host webpages. It supports PHP as well.
Just remember that port forwarding and port 80 is required for such process otherwise your users or customers have to load the page url together with a funny port eg <Elijahonli.synology.com:52222> instead of <Elijahonli.synology.com>
you can get more info here: https://www.synology.com/en-global/...ication/How_to_host_a_website_on_Synology_NAS
