hold the base of the cable, which is the solid cubic part at the end of the cable and pull it out downwards. Do attempt to pull the tail, where the flexible green part is.

removal of cable and insertion of cable into TP might have risk of introducing dust into the contacts. try not to remove as much as possible..

the armoured version adds protection to the fragile internals, but doesn't really make a difference if nothing is touching it. to me, to have an added protection is nothing because my patch cord is behind the tv console and no one is touching it, except for lizards..

If fibre optics to every rooms in your house, it is much more expensive setup for the fibre optic cabling setup and then u need to have router, PC, NAS with fibre optics port or converter from fibre optic to standard cat 5e/6.

Use cat. 5e/6 to your rooms in your house unless you have damn big landed property which the distance between one network point to another is more than 100 meters.

Just curious, and to confirm.... if i prefer ONT and Router to be at Study... TP installed at hall..

Will have to get this fibre optic cable? TP (hall) ---> ONT + ROUTER (BR tv console)

Study will have PS3 + 32inch TV on one side( left wall ) on tv console, Laptop on desk on another side ( right wall ). All this equipment preferably wired with Cat6.

I may have to ask contractor to set up 2 faceplate with 2 cat6? Since they are on opposite side.

ONT --> 2 cat6? Confused....

Thank you.

Going to lay a ~12m fibre patch cable around HDB columns with 90 degree sharp corners. With the ordinary fibre cable, I guess I will probably damage it. I saw this armored fibre cable from FibreStore that claimed this:

Any expert can provide you view? I'm trying to lay it like UTP cable and bend around rectangular columns.

hello, you are talking about 90 degree sharp corners leh. as the cable is made of glass, it might break inside the cable.

No matter how armoured your cable is, it doesn't change the internal physical properties of a glass leh..

Fiber patch cord can be made of plastic or glass. Those made of plastic can take a lot more stress and bending. But of course signal quality of the plastic cords is not as good as those made of glass.

Same as those using toslink cables for audio. Glass is always better.

separate query :

Saw you guys purchasing from Fiberstore

Link is there for that cable : http://www.fiberstore.com/sc-apc-to-sc-apc-singlemode-9-125-simplex-fiber-patch-cable-p-13381.html

How is it so far?

Intending to buy it for my ONT location at study room, intending to install TP near TV console in hall.

And do you recommend buying the Armoured ones? but I noticed its SC/UPC to SC/UPC, noob about this.. I know UPC is the connector.... but this should be fine to use with the ONT and the TP?

(Pulling from TP in hall to study room ONT via false ceiling)

Blue ones is SC UPC.....
Green connectors one is SC APC.....
I read that SC APC ones is better cos it has lower signal loss....

Your TP is APC standard. Using any other polish (PC/UPC) will potentially damage your TP.
