yup gear s3, that button was the first I tried. nothing happened. then within connections, nfc, tap and pay it says there's no payment app installed.

went to Samsung Store to check their watches... it doesn't have the pay installed as well.

for those who has Samsung pay, can check what's your software version? I even tried resetting and updating.

Which phone did you pair it with? I have Samsung pay and the firmware version of mine is the same as yours.

Yes. I just set up my Samsung pay on Gear s3.

Okay it seems like Samsung is serious in getting the gear s3 works in Samsung pay, even if you connect it to another phone which doesn't support Samsung pay natively.

What occurred when I was setting up was that, the app on the watch is indeed a companion app, and the partner Samsung pay app has to be installed on the phone.

As a s7e user, my native Samsung pay app is already well set up long ago, but when I launch the samsung pay on my watch, another version of samsung pay for gear s3 app opened and the routine set up occurred again.

From where, we know that Gear s3 samsung pay and s7e Samsung pay apps again really 2 separate ones and they don't seem to communicate with each other, and thus I will believe it will work with other android phones again results the new Samsung gear app might carry a mini partner app for use on phones without a native support.

Sounds confusing huh? Yeah it does but once you set it up, the partner app will disappear and you can relaunch the mini partner app from Samsung gear app..

Guys do note the the upper side of the bezel supports NFC and the lower portion supports MST. don't aim the wrong pay or u might receive an error.
