DESPERATELY NEED HELP: International student here, 80 rank pts, rejected by both NUS and NTU. Even triple E didn't get in. I honestly did not expect this. Now I'm thinking about studying overseas, can someone give me advices? Thinking about Canada.. I really appreciate anyone's help.. please, even a few resources will be really helpful. Thank u!

How are your grades like though?

The big 4 australian unis are a good choice and in terms of ranking wise, they are comparable to NUS/NTU and wayyy higher than SMU.

Was EEE your first choice? I think for now you should just try appealing into EEE, hopefully it'll work out. Try requesting for an interview opportunity. But in the process, you should look at overseas uni & prepare the applications as a safety net if your appeal into NTU/NUS fails. All the best!

For ACR:

Local
RP 70pts
NUS PFM - Applied with DA, Accepted on 11 May
NTU Maritime Studies, Mathematical Sciences - Rejected
SMU Social Science, SIS - Processing

*NUS did not send me an acceptance email or SMS, I checked status on JAP and subsequently confirmed my offer on OASF
*NTU sent me an email asking me to check application outcome online

Hi, when you receive a rejection email is it for the regular admission or for both regular and DA?
Applying for NTU Comms btw

Maybe I heard it wrongly 😅

Your teacher technically isn't wrong. The options you have for retake: 1)retake all 2)retake everything except h1 3)retake only h1. I think he/she told you the first 2 only because it's uncommon for students to just retake h1. Most students who do badly need to redo their h2s to get a significantly higher score, then only those who got pulled down specifically by h1 will consider retaking that one subject.

This is my case actually. I fared better in all my h1 subjects and did badly for my H2. Decided not to retake coz I was only disappointed in the grade for one of my h2 subs. If only can retake just 1 h2 paper 🙃
