guys i am heading to taiwan next week for the first time.

can i know what are their MRT card call?

so i can purchase it at the mrt station.

I mean the mrt card that use by public, not those tourist pass card.

To be exact, the itinerary (2 adults + 2 kids) for the 1st 2 days is:

Day1
TaoYuan Airport (arrive at 1:00PM)> TaoYuan HSR > TaiChung HSR > hail cab to Cingjing minsu (estimated arrive at 3plus) > 纸箱王 Carton King and 小瑞士花園 Small Swiss Garden > dinner back at minsu

Day 2 (just updated)
Green Green Grassland > check-out from CingJing Minsu > Inako 伊拿谷景观餐饮店 (lunch) > 18 C Chocolate > 薰衣草森林 > Taichung Hotel

This is the 1st time bringing the kids for vacation during winter times...so want to take things at a slower pace.

My 2 kids (10 yr and 12 yr)...not too sure of their tolerance towards long journey....think the elder one still ok...the younger one...hmmmm....

Winter time, day time is short and most ppl prefer to hibernate longer in the morning.
So for the first day, i advise just stay in taichung.
Second day head up to cingjing and do all the attractions.
Then overnight at the minsu, next day just head straight to the taichung hsr station or Train station to proceed on to next attraction or destination.

I'm not expert here, just wondering what time you will reach Cingjing minus, your 2 kids can tolerate long journey.
You go all the way there did not go to the Cingjing farm?

RUsh plan. Usually first day arrive is tiring one.
If overburn the candle, sure next few days will get sick.

A road collapsed in taipei and it took more than a week to recover. This is a landslide, so not it will take much longer. Unlike Japan, they can recover a collapsed road within days.

That stretch is super prone to landslide. Coming months are typhoon season.
Surely it will take a longer time.

I starting to plan my (1st weekend of) July trip le... yest ask my mama go down collect the new youyou card liao... me here to get some help. My mama wanna go see the sand sculptures thing at Fulong then I was trying to research how to go... when to TRA site and it seems trains are rather not frequent ? My initial plan was

Taipei to Fulong see sand sculptures
Fulong to Yilan (I wanan see the jimmy thing)
Yilan to Taipei

I am not sure if by TRA for the above is it feasible ? And how the train schedules will be like? Reason for wanting TRA is cos I heard this route travels along the coast so rather pretty...

There's TRA station in Fulong, walkable to beach. Can take normal train from Taipei Main or Songshan station.

Fulong to Yilan can use TRA

Yilan to Taipei use coach is faster, also cheaper (Kamalan or Capital bus)
