Really dont get why Mou keep insisting on starting Young at LB over Shaw.

Shaw has been in great form. You praise him at the pre match press con, then drop him on matchday. Like wtf. Many said he needs a rest but imo he needs a run of games to keep up with his fitness. If not how is he going to improve on his stamina?

Young, besides putting in good crosses at times, he is pretty clueless in defending and is a step slower than everyone else. He is no longer as fast when he sign for us. He gets caught out alot of times but nobody realise it, then got exposed in the Spurs game because both goals came from his area.

Yeah young positioning is horrendous. Against good sides he shouldn't be playing. Erikson supposed to be his man to track but he wasn't even close. 2nd goal didn't close trippier for the cross

Davinson was around same price as Lindelof if remember correctly

and Davinson is as bad as Lindeolf if you watched spurs games

Davinson was 42m while we bought Lindelof for 30m.

I think Davinson was not really first choice at the start but due to Alderweireld injury then he become first team one.

I hope Mou ditches Smalling and let Lindelof play instead. Smalling has been absolutely terrible since LvG left.

just checked Davinson was 36m and Lindelof 32m.

But no difference both are not proving their price tag.

couple of weeks more till Bailly gets back, at least he is better than Lindelof or Smalling

Smalling can only partner with Blind

Birdshit Young is never a defender. It was PhD that makes him a wingback to play on the left. He used to be a left winger. Thus, he can put in some good crosses though while Shaw would be weaker in that aspect.

Shaw is a defender and never a winger and that makes the difference.

What Jose is doin is trying to field a guy that would help in the attacks and hopefully add more creativity for the forwards. Thus he compromised the defense.

Young in his elements can help with the goal scoring whilst the chances of Shaw contributing in the goal scoring could be more remote.

Also, Jose felt that Young has more footballing brain than Shaw and I THINK that is the reason why he chose Young over Shaw in important games.

In this game against Tottenham, the mistake that he had committed is not about Shaw or Young, it is the lacking in the midfield and playing Pogba out of his strength.

But I do agree with you guys that Jose should stick to the players that did their job best at each department and have a balance team that has good players fulfilling each role to their best of their potential and getting them to gel and play as a team.

Buy whichever player or change whoever over whoever would be useless if the manager played the wrong config, playing players at wrong positions and selecting wrong players.

You see for yourself what a new manager that came in can do to Swansea City using players from the same squad that are low on morale and sinking for they had sunk to the rock bottom, winning 3 games out of 4 and beating 2 top 6 teams both home and away.

I am not saying that that manager is good enough for United. What I am saying is that a good manager playing the right team for the day, right tactics and playing the players to their strength can make a difference.

Some top manager can be pretty stubborn, overdosed by their ego and refusing to see the small mistakes and basic errors that they have committed and continue to commit blatant errors.

I am not talking about Jose only, PhD is the same and likewise is Klopp. It is not that Pochettino is much better than of these 3 that I have mentioned. It is that Pochettino is not a super manager like these 3, it is that by being an up and coming manager, he is not swell headed and is not shiat into one particular stubborn tactics that they would want to stick to. They worked hard to realise the weaknesses and strength and plays the team to the best that will win them the game. The new Swansea manager is the same and so was Jose during his early years when you look at him, you realise his brillance and astuteness. This is a very very different Jose now. A Jose that is successful and head stuffed with pride from his past success from the tactics that he employed and is trying to preach that kind of phylosophy of his successful tactics which he failed to realised that he was much more flexible and versatile in his early years like what these young managers that are coming on are doing now.
