hi guys, i got a step up acct with citibank for a few yrs. is it better to switch over to maxigain acct? i am abit lazy type of person, so is this maxigain acct good to earn interests without having to think too much abt fulfilling certain requirements? currently i am crediting my salary into citibank.

You should change. Citibank Step up account max interest is 0.13% per annum. The Maxigain is at least 0.8% per annum at base interest and will step up to at least 2% by 1 year.

However, it also depends on what you are using your Citibank account for. If it’s just to keep extra cash, then it’s okay. If it’s for a savings account for day to day usage, do consider other accounts like UOB One, BOC smartsaver, DBS multiplier, Maybank Saveup etc. Even CIMB FastSaver which you don’t have to do anything to hit higher interest gets you 1% per annum.

It's a good account. note that you cannot withdraw money from it if you want your interest rates to grow over time.

If I want to open a single and a joint maxigain account, do I have to put minimum 15k in both accounts?

Cos 10k is enough to get the interest already but need 15k for no fall-below fee

But joint account is 2 names, does that mean need minimum 30k?

I checked already, is need to maintain $15,000 each as joint account is 1 entity and single account is another entity

You meant each account is 15k to avoid fall below fee?
I dint know there is such a minimum deposit of 15k? All along i thot only need 10K for citi maxigain, be it joint or individual.

Can anyone double confirm this?

Do you all remember what form it was that they "forget" to ask you to sign? Best if anyone remembers how many forms to sign for the maxigain account can share with newer users so that they wont get into this SHITuation.

I feel they maybe troll you by incomplete form filling/fill wrong birthday because U never open credit card with them.

anyone can tell more about this too? like if you guys remember what/how many forms there were? thankssss :)

Just checking: are we able to open a joint Maxigain account if both persons have their own Single account? I tried to open a joint account today and was told I cannot open a joint Maxigain account as both of us have our individual single Maxigain account
