Putting hz aside, Asus VP28UQG, LG27UD58, both IPS with 4k res below $1K. However, is 28 inches and 27 inches. Not sure 4K in such size is a overkill though.
Overkill? More like hard to see any text unless you are up close to the screen.

I would probably go for ROG Strix XG32VQ btw, must go down walk walk see any surprise before making final descision.
Their QHD X315 pro is also 144hz. So, its a question of whether your gpu can support QHD with good FPS rates when gaming.
not AHVA... hmm. deep pockets.
great looking physical panel though.
Any know what will happen if you monitor window res is 2560x1440 @144hz but in game setting @ 1980x 1080p? Will the refresh rate stay at 144hz?
Most probably still run at 144hz. Coz specs says displayport support up to, nvr say only at that particular setup.
My guess. Lol
Popped down to have a look at the prism+ 315pro. Impression is that the colours on the va panel looks washed out. Maybe my eyes are too used to viewing ips panels. Wonder if the colours would be better after calibration.
Perhaps users of x315 can provide some feedback. But then again, not too many choices to being with when it comes to 32” 1440p 144hz monitors, let along in the same price bracket.
Saw the manual for XG32VQ. The supported timing list never show 1908x1980 @144hz, only show 1980x1080 @60hz.
Guess is no then?
Thanks for the input! X315pro does look wash out a bit I feel. Any chance you saw price for Samsung monitor, C32hg70 and C27fg73?
Seems like the only way to know is to set it to 1080p on site and check if the 120/144hz option will appear in the OSD or not..
I will be heading there after work so i will take a look at these 2 models.
C27FG73 is 1080p monitor, quite different from the 1440p monitors you are looking at though.

Never took note of prices for samsung monitors. I only went to the prism booth and then had a gander at some LG and acer monitors and went on my way. It seems that the prices this time round are the same or even more expensive than the last fair. One example is the acer EB321HQU which was selling @$348 during the last fair but its selling @$448 now. Qoo10 is selling the EB321HQU for $318 after $50 cart discount.
