Anyone buy iPhone XS from HK/CN ?

As Long u registered the new iPhone. It’s almost with world wide warranty. Meaning iphone bought overseas be honour in Sin. Verified also with Apple staff in Orchard branch. U need not bring receipt. They know whom registered for the new iphone.

this is the summary:

1. you CAN register for Apple care plus at abt 330 SGD.
(verified and done) (via apple online chat/Phone) - 2 other friends and I manage to do it.
2. If you are buying in hong kong direct - you can buy apple care plus when u are there or via chat/phone when u are back.
3. Difference - if there is component issue that requires 1-1 exchange, it will not be immediate, as apple will need to indent as the unit is different from Singapore set.
or they MAY offer to switch it to Singapore set if you cant wait.
(best to buy applecare +)
4. if you manage to get it at a cheaper than RRP price. just go to apple website to check your warranty and verify its registered in the system.


to those concern over price:
if you are travelling to HK. PAY BY CASH or use UTRIP card.
if you want to buy locally. Red white mobile is selling at reasonable price - 3% more if you want to pay by CC.

What do you mean by qualify as a new set? Even without AppleCare+, Apple will still service the HK set within the limited warranty period or even outside of the warranty period (got to pay as per usual practice).

Downside is you have to wait for any replacement parts shipped from HK. The repair won’t be immediate.

They might not. really depends if they are willing to help

No need to apply any warranty within that standard but limited 1 year warranty. Just walk into Apple store and they will service you.

Anyone has issues with Personal Hotspot when 2 sim cards are in the phone?
I have trouble trying to connect to my phone's hotspot when 2 sim are in the phone. it says
'Wi-Fi has the self-assigned IP address XXX.XXX.XX.XXX and will not be able to connect to the internet' on my mac network preference.

once i have taken one of the sim out, the hotspot works.

has anyone gone to the shops stated in this website to buy before? most of them seem to be in mongkok area. will the transactions be straight forward or will they pull some tricks like some sg mobile shops, e.g. go there no stocks, force u to buy accessories etc? especially when they can telll we are not locals...

I’ve bought many times from this website, from phones to G-shock watches, power bank, camera lens, camera

Normally I will get the address which I’m familiar, then I message them on the App (price.com.hk) itself to ask if got stock, then bring cash and deal. All the time it’s straight forward deal, only once when I buy DSLR lens, the shop try to cross sell his lens cover, but just politely reject, they r ok.

It’s like buying from Sim Lim sq, ask and check before u buy, once deal, cannot return, but can exchange within 7 days.
